Traditional French cottage close to town centre

Newly refurbished traditional French cottage with large garden within easy walking distance of Salies town centre, thermal/spa facilities, golf course, outdoors swimming pool, and all other amenities. Atlantic Ocean beaches: 30 minutes by car. Pyrenees and possibilities for walking and skiing: one hour by car. Our house is a typical french farmhouse from the late 1800s. It originally had two bedrooms. We have extended the living space into the barn and now have a very charming third bedroom with vaulted ceiling and balcony in the old hay loft. When we bought the place in 2016 it was in a sad state. We have totally refurbished it since, taking care to preserve its original character and charme. However, we think it is the garden that is the property's best feature. About 1000 square meters large, it is mostly laid out to lawn, but also features mature trees and hedges. The large terrasse is shaded by two catalpa trees that are as old as the house. It is very tranquil, and a wonderful place to while away lazy summer afternoons. We only let the property when we are not there ourselves, so the whole house as well as the garden are available for the exclusive use of the guests. We are available for our guests on phone and email, but also have our trusted representative Laura in place in Salies. She is only a phone call away may and may assist you on short notice if required. The house is situated a 10-15 minutes walk away from the town centre, in a quiet quarter dominated by detached houses set in large gardens. Our garden faces a small corn field, which gives you the feeling of being deep in the country side. Nevertheless, the nearest supermarket is only a five minutes' walk away. We therefore find that we get the best of all worlds in this part of Salies. The nearest train station is Puyoo, about 6 km away, and with good train services. Bus service between Salies and Puyoo - and on to Pau - exist but is not frequent, so taxi to and fro the train station is most often the best solution (please note that taxis need to be booked well ahead). Salies and all its amenities are within easy walking distance of the house. If you like biking, do bring your bike. Salies is a popular base for biking tourism and groups of friends etc. Are frequently to be seen on bike all year round. However, to be able to benefit fully from all the interesting places around Salies - the mountains, the gaves (rivers), the sea, wine and cheese trails - we recommend that you bring a car. The house comes with parking space for two cars.
