High View House is a beautiful 18th century stone cottage. What makes it extra special is its location in the South Downs National Park. With its stunning rural views and friendly polo ponies in the neighbouring fields. It’s your very own stylish self-contained ground floor ‘Escape to the Country’ retreat however, with no shortage of fantastic restaurants & adventures on your doorstep. Conveniently located near to Goodwood, Cowdray, Chichester and wonderful beaches on the South East coast. Your self-contained suite (own private entrance) has recently been refurbished and is beautifully styled throughout. A historical ordnance survey map wall, wood floors, with luxurious carpet in the bedroom and an original Chesterfield sit comfortably alongside fluffy towels, crisp linen, feather pillows and a generous King sized bed. Comfort is key. Ideal for couples, friends or solo travellers alike. All are welcome to relax and unwind. A Bosch Tassimo (Costa) coffee, (Twinings Breakfast) tea and (Cadbury) hot chocolate machine is on hand for all your hot drink needs. Along with a complimentary breakfast of granola, natural yogurt and mixed berries which will be placed in your fridge ahead of your stay, as well as fresh fruit juice, milk and water too. Think well equipped hotel suite (rather than full catering holiday cottage) with a couple of extra welcome treats from us to you… There are sweeping views from the garden of the stunning Shimmings Valley and there are two footpaths into the town. One is off the property over the field from which you can walk to Petworth town centre (approx. 5/10mins). You can also use the quicker route of the shared central path that leads onto North Street and then left into town. There you will find a number of restaurants, shops, galleries and amazing pubs. It's always best to book when eating out and we can happily help recommend. Only ever a phone call/text away. However, the hosts live in the property so can be accessed in person the majority of the time when required. There is so much to see and do in an around Petworth. Petworth itself is a picturesque market town situated within the South Downs National Park, with an wonderfully eclectic and exciting array of shops, galleries and restaurants. Adjoining the town is Petworth House and its 600 acre deer park owned by the National Trust. However, Petworth really comes into its own in July & October where its annual Music and Arts (July) & Literary (Oct/Nov) festivals take place. There are also numerous sporting activities available in and around the area. Horse and motor racing at Goodwood, Polo, fly fishing & golf at Cowdray, wind-surfing at West Wittering, sailing at Itchenor and amazing walks and hiking in the South Downs National Park. In our rural setting a car is the best way to get around if you are visiting nearby attractions. However, if you want to be based solely in Petworth, you can easily navigate and explore on foot. Either by walking via North Street or the footpath over the fields into Petworth House or Petworth Town Centre. **Our nearest train station is Pulborough (8 mins by car from the property). Transportation to the house can be organised. **
