Char Barɘu at Sacred Tree Spirit Woodland Retreat

Char Barɘu is a tiny but cosy glamping space with a double bed, in a magical woodland populated with many deer, owls, bats, foxes, badgers and birds of prey. It was recently featured on the BBC programme 'My Unique B&B' the episode called 'Jon and Michelle’s Horse Cart' The River Wye is a short walk away, and there are many woodland trails, some leading to some spectacular viewpoints. It is the perfect place to unplug, destress, and do some forest bathing, as the magic of the woods reveals itself with each season. There is a parking space near the cabin, and an outdoor cooking area. The shower and toilet is in the main house. There is also a fire pit where you can enjoy a cuppa and a toasted marshmallow! Breakfast is included, vegetarian evening meals can be provided and gluten free and vegan diets are catered for. There is no WiFi in or around the cabin, but there is in the main house if you need to plug in! We will send detailed instructions on how to find us when you book! There is generally someone around, otherwise we can be messaged if there are any questions. Jon is often in the workshop making, and you would be welcome to watch the forging or woodturning. The pubs at Symonds Yat east and west are approximately 20 minutes walk away, (East accessible via hand ferry) Monmouth is a ten minute drive, Ross on Wye is 20 minutes away. King Arthur's Cave is a 15 minute walk and the local shop and garage is a 30-40 minute walk, or a five minute drive.
