Located in the heart of Melrose, this quirky loft conversion is just a 2 minutes’ walk from the centre of the historic town of Melrose. You have your own private entrance, small internal area for coats, shoes etc then up to the bright studio where there is a double bed, two lovely armchairs, a dining table with 2 two chairs, a fully equipped kitchenette as well as a bathroom with shower/wc and basin. This studio is presented to a high standard and is an ideal base for sightseeing, walking, cycling and fishing (on the nearby River Tweed). While set in the heart of Melrose, it's secluded and private location gives you a peaceful setting in which to relax. Bikes, fishing tackle, walking gear etc can be stored in the garage. Bikes are available if you'd like to travel around and a travel cot is also available on request. The whole studio is your own to use, and parking is right outside. You also have seats outside the door to take in the great views of Melrose and the Eildons. We live next door to the studio and are available to help with questions/queries and general information. You are 2 minutes’ walk from the centre of the historic town of Melrose, the birthplace of rugby sevens. It is one of the prettiest towns in the Borders, positioned at the foot of the triple peaks of the Eildon Hills (the most distinctive single landmark in the Scottish Borders). The ruins of Melrose Abbey (dating from 1136) is a very popular tourist attraction. Melrose has a lovely selection of unique shops, restaurants and cafes just a 2 minutes stroll from the accommodation. Walking to Melrose town centre is all of 2 minutes. Tweedbank train station is a 20 min stroll, and there are public buses which run frequently, and they also go and from the train station. The nearest bus stop is 300m from the door Trains to and from Edinburgh run every hour and the station at Tweedbank is a 20 minute walk, so also provides a great option for visiting Edinburgh as well as a great bolthole for the Edinburgh Festival. The big events each year are the Borders Book Festival (June) and the Melrose 7s (April). A travel cot is also available on request.
