Secluded location on the edge of the village, a few metres from the Cathar Trail (Sentier Cathar) on the hill above the house. This listing is for the ground floor apartment rooms, sauna and hot tub. The pool and pool house will be closed for winter. Winter pricing does not include use of the pool or summer kitchen. Sauna and hot tub are included. Dining Kitchenette in the house - suitable for breakfast and light meals. Table d'Hote available if you don't want to cook. Free wifi. No TVs in the guest area - we think you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet. We live onsite in an apartment in the house, so we’re here all the time to offer tips on how to make the most of your visit. We don't get in the way, but we love a chat if you have time :-). We're passionate about our beautiful region and happy to share ideas on what to see and do. You will see us around the garden working from time to time and looking after the chickens. Set in the valley between the castles of Foix and Roquefixade and with views to Montsegur, the house is a few metres off the Cathar Trail and perfect for walkers and cyclists. Canoeing on Lac Montbel nearby. Fishing in mountain rivers. Or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Our lovely village has a treasure of a church with its 15th century altar piece. So much to see and do in this little known area of France. Clear night skies perfect for star gazing. Skiing in nearby Mont d'Olmes and Ax 3 Domaines. On prend Cheques-Vacance. Trains run regularly from Toulouse to Foix. Low cost air travel to Carcassonne, Toulouse or Perpignan. We recommend car hire as the village does not have a frequent bus service. Cyclists most welcome - we can store your bike safely in the garage. We hate having to make rules like this but our experience has shown us we need to be crystal clear on this before you book. IMPORTANT! THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. This is a rural sanctuary. No loud noise of any kind (music or very loud conversation outdoors) at any time of day or night. Sound carries easily in the mountains and echoes. Please do not book or check in if you want to make a lot of noise. This is a very quiet, rural village and we expect you to respect the quality of life of our neighbors. We will have to ask you to leave if you break this very clear house rule. We welcome families but as this is a luxury retreat, largely aimed at adults, it is not suitable for very active children. NO BALL GAMES in the garden at any time. There are lots of fragile plants and the pool cover that could get broken. Suitable for children over 12 - sorry no infants can be hosted. NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS either during the day or to stay. If you book for your family, then it is exclusive to you. Please don't invite others to join you. If you want to meet up with friends, please do it offsite. We are delighted that people love it here, but our insurance only covers booked guests. We love sharing our beautiful home, but it is important to us that our guests respect the beauty of this environment and the house rules. The kitchenette is designed for preparing breakfast and simple meals - in summer the kitchen by the pool house is well equipped for creating big family meals.
