Experience the rural eco lifestyle in Foxes Den. Amazing views, hidden away position and possibility of wild deer. An off grid experience with comfort and good facilities. Spacious cabin with king size bed ,sofas, shower room with basin and flushing toilet, A complete kitchen with crockery , cutlery ,cooker and fridge . Guests love that power and water are by sustainable sources on site and use of corrugated iron, wood and render in the interior. Pets by agreement A perfect couples hideaway Foxes Den is a perfect escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the countryside in an eco friendly off grid structure. Step into the cabin through the enclosed porch and the cabin is exclusively yours for your stay. From your king-sized bed, you will be able to watch the sun set over the valley, and watch buzzards flying over the field in front of you. If you are lucky, you might see deer grazing, or the field foxes or even a badger. You will find all modern amenities in the cabin, mixed with up -cycled gems like corrugated iron. Our aim was to create a comfortable modern space within a rural structure and provide sustainable means of power , light and water, without compromising on facilities expected from a holiday home. All the materials used were to be of a rural Devon source, pre owned , up cycled and reclaimed . The walls are part render, corrugated iron and pallet wood with a wall of windows to the front capturing views of Dartmoor and the stunning sunsets. A unique beech floor rescued from a gym adds individuality to the space. The sitting area has comfortable sofas and a log burning stove to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Wood is provided. There is a compact dining area with table and chairs to enjoy a meal on. A generous sized shower room finished to a high standard with hot and cold shower, plumbed toilet and plumbed basin add to everyday comfort. The kitchen with all that is needed to prepare meals including crockery and cutlery, pots and pans and a gas cooker means that guests can be totally self contained , and the kitchen even has a standard fridge. We provide freshly ground coffee tea and sugar and complimentary milk in the fridge. We deliberately do not have a tv in the cabin or WiFi. Outside and apart from the views already mentioned is an outdoor dining area and barbecue space. We can provide a barbeque and charcoal for £ 10 payable on arrival, or bring a disposable one with you. There is intentionally no vehicle access to maintain the wild feel to quite a unique experience, so parking is by the swimming pond. Infants are welcome as are well behaved dogs ( no dogs or infants in the water allowed ) . (please just check with me first before booking )we make a one off charge of £ 20 for a dog guest payable at time of booking. If the dates you need are not available, why not check out my other cottage listing on the same property: Once on the property, follow the signs to " Foxes Den "and park in the purpose-built gravel parking area. I have intentionally ensured that there is no parking in the immediate area outside the cabin to preserve the seclusion and 'hideaway' aspects of the cabin. It also means that wildlife are much more likely to be seen You might find it helpful to bring a torch too. During normal check-in hours, I am always available to meet and welcome my guests and give some local Devon knowledge and recommendations, or just answer any questions you may have. When I cannot personally welcome guests there is a welcome manual on the table inside outlining how everything works. I am always contactable by text if there is anything needed, and I have a huge depth of local knowledge for recommending trips, less touristy spots and organising activities. You will be amazed at what you can do around the local area - from horse riding, mountain biking and hiking to climbing, surfing, yoga and basket weaving! Please don't hesitate to ask. It would be my pleasure to advise you. Easily accessible by rail, bus and car, and only a 35minute drive from Exeter airport, The cabin is in the heart of South Devon and you will be amazed at how accessible every part of Devon is from here using the A38 which is nearby. ( there is some road noise from the A 38 in the summer. ) Take in Dartmoor, The English Riviera, medieval Totnes, historical and buzzing Exeter, Elizabethan Plymouth, the beautiful coast and sandy beaches and we are even close enough to Cornwall that you can do a day trip to visit some of Cornwall's gems. Please just ask me and I can help you to plan an itinerary. Nearby is the picturesque village of South Brent with the lovely vintage Station House, Cafe/ Bar, and Co-op as well as the Dr's surgery and dentist. An award winning Gastro pub, the Turtley Corn Mill is also only a short walk down the hill. The famous artists town of Totnes is a 15 minute drive and driving in any direction takes in the coast and stunning countryside. Although having a car in South Devon is useful, don't worry if you don't have access to one. Buses to Exeter and Plymouth run from the top of the lane and trains are easily accessed a ten minute drive away. I can help with drop-offs and pickups by arrangement. As we are situated very near to the Devon Expressway, those with cars will be able to easily access the whole of Devon and even Cornwall. The a38 runs right through the country, shaving hours off your travel Foxes den is very much a one off project and improvements to comfort and the eco aspect are always being worked on further. A long-time South Devon local, there is not much that I don't know about this area. A unique service I can offer is personalised Devon tours. Some of my most popular tours are spooky Dartmoor tours, taking in spots of ghostly happenings and Dartmoor prison and also Dartmoor sightseeing trips, all with time for swimming and feeding the famous Dartmoor ponies. I charge for these trips at a daily rate and will be happy to tailor something to your specifications! Just let me know if you are interested. We do have 3 pets, but they are not allowed in the accommodation. Our friendly big old dog, Ella, lives on the property. She is well behaved. If you like cuddles, great! But if you are not a dog lover, don't worry as she will not be in your way. Then there is Dottie the Dalmation, A loveable friendly playful bundle of fun. We also have a ginger tabby named captain Jack livingstone Stanley but you will be lucky if you can find him before he finds you.
