La Villa Rosa-Breathtaking views of Volcano Etna 🌋

Imagine an oasis between a volcano and the sea. A peaceful paradise of green gardens and amazing mountain and sea views. Wake up every day to greet Etna at your kitchen door. Squeeze oranges from the citrus grove and breakfast under Etna's watchful eye. 15 minutes to the beach, 30 minutes to Taormina and 45 minutes to Catania this is the perfect position for explorers who desire to climb Etna or those who want to relax in secluded gardens, sipping vino and playing a spot of tennis. We love cooking in our new kitchen with gas hob (ideal for creating the perfect pasta dish) and Etna overlooking all that we do. Of course there are the usual amenities but also a coffee machine, orange/citrus juicer, English tea and even Marmite and Vegemite. As we love entertaining there is a banquet table fit for a king or queen (or hungry family) which seats up to 16 people. The large downstairs space is open-plan from lounge to diner to kitchen making it perfect for gatherings or parties. If you want to chill then we have an upstairs lounge area with TV, DVD and Netflix. Beware though- you will be surrounded by Sicilian puppets! The bedrooms all have shutters which completely black out all the light ensuring a peaceful nights (or afternoon if you get an early flight and need a nap) sleep. All windows are newly mosquito-screened to keep those pesky insects at bay. Fans are provided for all bedrooms. The outside space is amazing with ample parking for at least 4 cars (although easily more if needed). The tennis court is dated but amazing fun for amateurs wanting to play. A basketball hoop provides exercise in a different way. One of the standout features outdoors is the stunning pizza oven area. Gorgeous looking and functional this covered space has both a wood-fired pizza oven and a gas-fired hob making entertaining fun and communal. Imagine the pizzas you and your friends and family can create! The whole property is accessible to guests apart from a small room marked ‘Privato’, the garage and a shed (where we keep our private possessions.) Our house keeper Carmela will be available during your stay. She lives in the town and is your Sicilian angel! We reside in the UK so are contactable via e-mail and phone if any problems arise however Carmela is your first point of call. She speaks Italian, so unless you also do, communication is best by messages so that she can translate them. Please contact Carmela (her number is in the house manual) at least 48 hours before your arrival to arrange an approximate check-in time. Check-in time is flexible depending upon whether we have other guests staying the day before. Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and fruit trees this private paradise is an escape from the rest of the world. When you want to re-enter society however the friendly, striking town of Piedimonte Etneo is only a 2 minute drive (or a 15 minute walk for the adventurous) away. Don’t expect to meet many tourists in Piedimonte as this is a typical Sicilian working town with two restaurants, multiple bars, lots of shops and all the amenities you need. The wine region of Etna starts at Piedimonte Etneo and the famous Wine Train stops at the local station. Vineyard tours can easily be arranged locally. We love to taste the local vino at Caffe del Corso on the main street. You will need a car if you stay at La Villa Rosa as we are on the outskirts of the town and public transport to the area is limited (but not impossible for the adventurous!) For the obligatory night out without a designated driver we have contacts with local taxi companies. There will be clean towels and bed linen provided for your stay. We are a pet friendly house and would love your animal companions to accompany you. If you are bringing pets, please let us know so we can make the house perfect for them to enjoy their holiday. Please read the house manual once you have booked. Vincenzo, the gardener ensures the grounds are well- maintained and remain beautiful. He has a key and will need to access the gardens either once or twice a week depending upon the season. He is a lovely man, very proud of the garden and great to chat to (again in Italian or via (Hidden by Airbnb) Translate).
