Casal da Baleia is a small farm walled with garden, with an idyllic location in a quiet area of countryside, at 2,5km from the beach Praia de São Julião, and at 6km from the old fishing village center of Ericeira, and also close to several beaches. Casal da Baleia is a small farm walled with garden and a large ground-floor house with 4 spacious bedrooms of a very nice and well decorated living space of 250m2 and sitting on a land over 3000m2, overlooking Mafra village and the Valley Rio Lizandro, on a peaceful yet fun environment. A unique relaxing and charming rustic house, located in a National ecological reserve area, with a magnificent view to the valley of Rio Lizandro and a breathtaking view of Mafra and its convent, where you will be able to enjoy a great pool and outer spaces nice and well care, all this with the quietness and total privacy. The house has a big and fully equipped modern kitchen with laundry area and eating area with table for meals, big dining room with 10 seats and living room with fireplace and TV. 2 bedrooms with double bed each and a bathroom with tub, and two bedrooms with 2 single beds each and a bathroom with shower. Terrace with 100m2, with direct access from the kitchen and living room, its equipped with barbecue, support area, table and chairs, excellent for relaxed outside meals or just to enjoy the panoramic and fantastic nature views, allowing unique relax experiences, with direct access to the pool and gardens, where you can take sunbaths from sun rising to fall. Enjoy the sun on the edge of the pool with your friends and family with total privacy! House has a half lower-floor, where’s located the games room, with several games (snooker, football table and arrows), where you will be able to play at anytime, with no concerns about noise and without disturbing the rest of others in the house. We have free Wi-Fi all over the place as well as several free parking places inside the property. Land with several farming areas for biological agriculture & horticulture allows having a great variety of fruits and vegetables during all year, according to ecological production management system best practices. This allows us to offer to all our guests a welcome basket with several fruits and vegetables produced in our small farm (only with products available at the moment). Guest have full access to all facilities including: - Wi-Fi; - Wash machines; - Firework wood; - Barbecue; - Game room with several games (snooker, football table and arrows); and - Swimming pool. I’m the Casal da Baleia owner. The guests will have my mobile phone always available to help or solve any problem. During your stay and for maintenance reasons of our gardens and farming areas, maintenance personnel (gardener/farmer) may have to work for a few hours early morning, 1-2 days a week. During that time, our personnel can interact until the level that our guests want, providing general tips and explanations about biological agriculture and horticulture working progress at the moment. Casal da Baleia neighborood is very quiet. Located in a National ecological reserve area, allows you to enjoy the nature, where rabbits, turtledoves and other bird’s as also other wild animals enriches your experience. Although this quietness, once you get the main road N247, nearby and along this road you will find several coffee shops, many restaurants and a supermarket. You can find "Evaristo” and “Chapéu Preto”, in 400m, as very cozy restaurants and, above all, with attentive and genuine people. You find a Repsol Gas station in 1,0km, at Pobral, with a restaurant and a convenience store, and a few meters ahead, on the other side of road, you can also find a typical bakery, where you can get delicious types of bread and cakes. If you need some grocery, you can find it in 2,0km, at Santa Susana, a friendly small market, surrounded by several coffees. During July and August, you can visit and join the small villages street summer parties, with religious processions, popular local dances and several concerts with various artists and bands. If you like surfing, than this is the house for you! You are at 2,5km from the beach Praia de São Julião, and you can find some of the best surf spots in Portugal in the neighborhood. The house is located around 35km away from Lisbon, and it takes around 30-40 minutes by car. Shuttle transport and taxi services operate from Lisbon Airport direct to your accommodation and it can be provided by an additional payment. Public transports are at 500m from the house (bus stop) and there are several transport alternatives to arrive to house, although car is the most advisable, so renting a car is the best option. You must have a car to move yourself along the Portuguese Atlantic coast where you can eat the best quality fresh fish and shellfish in the world and find several beaches perfect for surfing. The house is also located in a triangle center from nearest villages with several points of interest: - Ericeira (6km away and 10min drive); - Mafra (10km away and 15min drive) with the Convent of Mafra; and - Sintra (18 km away and 25min drive) with the Palace of Sintra.
