Situated in the centre of historic Winchester within walking distance of the start of the South Downs way, this Grade II listed apartment with modern decor, provides a contemporary space offering friends, couples & families (LGBTQ+ welcome) an upmarket holiday base or work from home environment. There are 2 double and 1 single bedrooms, a sofa bed in the lounge, and 2 bathrooms. This spacious apartment can accommodate 5 - 7 people with the bonus of outdoor space and on-road permit parking. This stylish lower ground apartment has two tastefully decorated double bedrooms and a single bedroom. The principle bedroom has two single beds which can be joined together to form a super king size bed. It also has a walk-in wardrobe, dressing table, wooden flooring, and an ensuite wet room with underfloor heating and a large walk-in shower with Grohe shower head. The second bedroom has a double bed, double wardrobe and chest of drawers, and the third bedroom a single bed, hanging space, and storage. The contemporary family wet room has underfloor heating and a large walk in shower with a Grohe shower head. The living/diner area is flooded with natural light from the feature original sash windows; with plantation shutters an attractive original feature of the Grade II listed building. It’s furnished with a large, comfortable grey sofa which can convert into a double bed and matching armchair. The sofa bed can be used to increase the accommodation from 5 people to 7 people. For the sofa bed if you bring your own bedding and towels there is no extra charge for use. If you would like towles and bedding supplied for the sofa bed an extra charge of £25 applies. There is a dining table and chairs to seat six diners. Guests can also take advantage of a flat screen TV with Virgin Media Channels and a well-stocked bookcase. There is highspeed fibre wifi throughout the apartment for gaming or streaming of movies and the apartment also has smart heating controls. The fully equipped kitchen comes complete with modern conveniences such as a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, wine fridge, and the ever essential Nespresso coffee machine. There is also an informal breakfast bar with two bar stools. The property is across the road from the St James' Tavern - a welcoming traditional pub which serves excellent food including an outstanding locally sourced brunch. The apartment's convenient location means it’s near many of the city’s restaurants. For summer evenings and warmer weather, there is a small courtyard garden for guests to enjoy their pre-dinner drinks or morning coffee. Parking permits allow guests on street parking. Please get in touch to discuss longer term let possibilities and reduced rates. Guests are welcome to use the courtyard garden and additional shared garden space. We welcome guests from all walks of life. I believe you should be able to enjoy your holiday uninterrupted however if there is anything you need or would like to know then please do not hesitate to get in touch. There is a comprehensive home pack available in the apartment but I know Winchester very well and would be more than happy to make recommendations. Winchester is a vibrant market city with a number of historic sites of religious and military interest. There are many restaurants to cater for all tastes and a daily market. Christmas in Winchester is particularly magical with events at the Cathedral, a renowned Christmas market and ice rink. The property is located less than a 5 minute stroll from Winchester train station. There is also a bus stop nearby for travel to Southampton and there are easy road links for the M3, M27, and A34 onto the A303. On-street parking is only allowed with a parking permit (visitors permit supplied) however parking is free after 6pm and before 8am Monday - Saturday and free all day Sunday. There is a multi-storey car park a couple of minutes walk away should you require more parking or parking is available at the train station. Possible noise issue for light sleepers, the property only has single glazing (grade II listed) therefore traffic/train noise can occasionally be heard during the night time. We want the space to be welcoming and clean and for you to do as little as possible during your stay, therefore we can arrange for the property to be professionally cleaned with a linen change at additional cost, just get in touch to organise. If you wish to use the sofa bed there will be a £25 extra charge to cover the laundry of the linen. Please let us know if you would like to use the sofa bed and we will get everything ready for your stay.
