Carpenter's Cottage, a fabulous barn conversion

Carpenter's Cottage is situated at the heart of the historic Halston Estate. Recently renovated the single storey listed building has spacious rooms and double height ceilings. An ideal get away for up to six people it has a courtyard garden for sunny days and a woodburner for the colder, wetter days. Shared use of a tennis court. The house is fantastically well equipped and in an ideal location for exploring anywhere from South Shropshire to Snowdonia, Chester or Ellesmere and Shrewsbury. Halston Estate was once the home of the infamous Regency squire 'Mad Jack' Mytton. Recently converted to a very high standard, the red brick cottage is located within the original farm buildings at Halston Estate. The cottage is heated with central heating from a biomass boiler that supplies the estate and there is underfloor heating in the bathrooms. The single storey property is accessible with a wheelchair and has wide doorways throughout and no internal steps but if you have any queries do please ask. The large sitting room has big sofas, a log burner, 55" smart TV and Blu-ray/DVD player. There are an extensive range of DVDs, books and board games. WiFi is approximately 10mbps which is sufficient to stream films. Mobile phone coverage varies according to network. The kitchen is well equipped with a double oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fitted fridge freezer and plenty of small appliances for the keen cooks out there. There is a Nespresso machine if people wish to bring their own capsules. A wonderful Neptune farmhouse table with matching chairs provide a perfect setting for some memorable mealtimes. Stone floors, high ceilings and lots of windows give the room a wonderfully light and airy feel. Guests staying for a week or more will receive a breakfast basket on arrival including fresh bread or croissant, eggs and from our chickens when available, and other local produce. The master bedroom has a king size bed, an outside door that opens onto the courtyard garden and an ensuite shower room. The curtains all have blackout linings. There are two other pretty twin bedrooms with plenty of storage and space as well as a family bathroom. Egyptian cotton sheets and thick fluffy towels are provided. Outside the courtyard garden has teak garden furniture and gas barbecue. There is a tennis court which is shared with the owners.
