Independent house, with two floors, built in the House of Boco, a manor house with over 300 years, offering a view over the village and the valley of Arouca. The house has 2 floors, 4 separate bedrooms upstairs, each with private bathroom. There is one room with a double bed and the remaining have twin beds. A cot is available for babies if necessary. On the ground floor we have the living rooms (50m2), dining area, and the kitchen. The house is surrounded by large gardens and a pool. There is another private house next door, totally separate, used occasionally by the owners. The swimming-pool and part of the garden are of exclusive use by our guests. A small section of the garden, which is clearly identified, is for the use of the owners. If we are not available to receive you someone else will :). A visit is essential to the Arouca Monastery, National Monument, and its Sacred Arts Museum, but also to Arouca GeoPark with 45 geosites inventoried. The Geological Interpretation Centre of Canelas should not be missed, where you can enjoy the remarkable collection of fossils of giant trilobites, marine animals about 465 million years, collected on site as well as the extraordinary phenomenon of Parideiras Stones and trace fossils on the Paiva Valley. A drive to the Serra da Freita, where you can enjoy the walking routes established by the Board are lovely, or if you prefer to visit some of the traditional villages or the famous Frecha Mizarela, the highest waterfall of Portugal. Closer is the Monte da Senhora da Mó, with its characteristic chapel of Moorish architecture, from where you have a breathtaking view of the mountains and the valley of Arouca. It is also worth a trip to Areinho Beach in Rio Paiva, where, during the winter, you can go rafting. Finally make sure you try the veal from arouquesa meat in one of the local restaurants, joined by a local green wine. And to finish the meal in beauty, enjoy one of the many confectioneries of the Arouca Convent, such as the "morcelas", the "pão de ló" or the "castanhas doces", all made with eggs and almond. The house is walking distance from the centre of the villa of Arouca, but we do recommend a car so you can visit all the there beautiful places we recommend.
