Guest home Honeysuckle Lane
Honeysuckle Lane is an open and cozy guest home which has great light and is very comfortable to be in. It is located in a quiet, open and green residential neighbourhood. It is a 7 minute bicycle ride to the Wageningen University campus and to the center of Wageningen and walking distance to natural destinations like the floodplains of the Neder Rhine river and the Veluwe. Honeysuckle Lane is an environmentally friendly and energy efficient guest house built in 2018. From the outside, Honeysuckle Lane is a striking building in the neighborhood, it's a tilted square gently nestled between the houses. It overlooks a wide green grass strip and a community vegetable garden. When you enter the guesthouse you will find yourself in a spacious living room (22m2) flooded by natural light. The decor is an eclectic mix of modern, design and vintage. The living room offers a sitting area consisting of 2 comfortable sofa beds and a small dining table. The bathroom (4m2) offers a large bath tub, shower, sink and toilet. The walls are polished with a finish of concrete Ciré. Upstairs is a (20m2) bedroom with 2 single beds which can be joined. The windows in this room overlook a wooded area. There are also 2 large rooftop windows so you can stare at the stars before falling asleep. Part of the bedroom is an open closet area for storing your belongings during your stay. The spacious kitchen (20 m2) is fully equipped with a full Sire fridge/freezer, large induction stovetop, oven, sink, dishwasher, pots/pans and cutlery, etc. It is stocked with basic supplies, like coffee, tea, muesli, rice, spices, oil, vinegar, etc. which you are welcome to help yourself to. The kitchen offers a large dining table to comfortably enjoy shared meals with up to 6-8 people. In case you need to do laundry or iron something, we've got you covered and you are welcome to use the laundry facilities. The owners live in a separate house on the property and available in case of questions, just ask. They are happy to help you get settled here and recommend all the best places in and around town. Honeysuckle Lane is located in what is called the 'Benedenbuurt', which means the lower neighborhood. It's a rather ironic name because the 'Benedenbuurt' actually is higher than the neighborhood next to us. It's a typical residential area built in the 1950's. What makes the place so special is the open planning and the locals. The residents of the Benedenbuurt are currently and collectively working on a plan to transition away from natural gas and switch to more sustainable energy sources to heat their homes. Honeysuckle Lane is easy to reach by bike, car or public transportation. The central bus station is 5 minutes away by bike or car. The local trainstation, Ede-Wageningen, is a 20 minute bus, bike or car ride away. During your stay, biking is likely the easiest way to get around and you are free to use the guest bikes at any time. We'll happily refer you to a driver if you need transport. In case you just want to go for a walk, you are in the right place. We are located right next to an idlyllic and undulating agricultural area filled with community gardens and pastures. Walking to the foothills of the Rhine river is also a great destination which is easily walkable. Must climb stairs - The bedroom is located upstairs. Security Deposit - if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $171
