Pukemiro Retreat - SE Facing Queen Bedroom

This peaceful coastal permaculture farm only 20 minutes from New Plymouth boasts spectacular views overlooking the Onaero River and Tasman Sea. Situated between two beaches, its unique geographic location makes it an ideal base for a coastal getaway stay in Northern Taranaki. Plenty of secure, off-road parking, wifi and homegrown produce. This light and airy southeast facing Queen bedroom is provided with night tables, mirror, closet, luggage racks, modern, double insulated windows and tile floors. A fan heater is available for those southerly winter winds or warm up beside our fireplace in the shared central courtyard. Late arrivals can be accommodated by arrangement. Please call ahead if you are delayed. Guests can visit vegetable gardens, orchards and edible landscapes in the vicinity of the house. Farm tours to the wider farm can be made by arrangement. Pukemiro Farm produces fresh foods, produce and preserves. Beef cattle and sheep graze the pastures and native birds are active in the surrounding bush habitat. Our family enjoy hosting. Pukemiro Farm is a working farm. We sometimes have overseas helpers stay and assist us on the property. Guests are welcome to talk with us about our sustainable food farming. Mobile phone reception in the home and on the property is variable at times. SMS messages are checked regularly and preferred to voice messages. Urenui village is a short drive away for food and other shopping. Mike's Organic Brewery Tasting Room & Cafe is 5 minutes north of Urenui. The spectacular White Cliffs walkway lies about 15 minutes further to the North down Pukearuhe Road. We are bounded by an ancient Maori village called Pukemiro Pa set in virgin bush. This is a protected area belonging to the Ngati Mutunga Iwi (tribe). TRANSPORT INFO: BUS: 5km from Urenui serviced by Newmans Intercity once or twice per day. AIR: 20km from New Plymouth Airport. A safety briefing and suitable footwear is required to access these areas.
