Friendly farm stay near beach.
Our farm looks out to the sea, across lush green fields. Your private two story, newly renovated accommodation is self contained with outside living areas and modern amenities. Walk, bicycle, drive or canoe the short distance to the beach. Farm life. Self contained, private rural accommodation located on Meringo Creek farm which is a working farm, producing ethical and sustainable agricultural product for the local award winning Moruya Farmers Market. The view from your bedroom is outstanding and very unique looking across the farm paddocks to the ocean where whales can be seen breaching during their annual migration period. Guests are free to do their own thing with many options available - the beach 5 minutes drive from your door and the Bingi Dreaming track close at hand for bush walkers. There are good shops, markets (Saturday and Tuesday) and two supermarkets in Moruya (ten minutes away). Every Tuesday we sell beef, lamb or goat kid at Moruya Farmers Market (ABC Delicious Awards "Most Outstanding Farmers Market in Australia" in both 2014 and 2015). Farm gate sales are seasonally available. Your kitchen has all the utensils you will need. You have a really cool Marshall amp/speaker to bluetooth to your own music on your device/s, which will also hook up to the TV for enhanced sound for the odd movie you may want to watch. Mobile coverage is OK(ish). Depending on your carrier....(Telstra is better) On occasion, you may have to walk over to the coral tree or face a little towards the ocean. Likely though, it is not as good as what you are used to. Visitors have access to the whole farm area in general. There are cattle, sheep, goats and donkeys roaming in various paddocks so farm gates are to be left as found - if open leave it open; if closed keep it closed. Many of our fences are electrified and visitors should be mindful of the dams and creeks and if they have small children that they access the wider property at their own risk. We can provide a mud map/s for you, so that you can access our magnificent coastline through our farm or by road, foot, bicycle, canoe or car. Our immediate house yard and living space is of course out of bounds, as is use of farm vehicles and machinery. We are available to advise you during your stay and attempt to answer any of your questions. On the majority of occasion though....... it is your holiday, our livelihood - a sweet balance ensures neither party is pestered. Put it this way - nobody will be looking through your window. Very RURAL. Very peaceful. Very stress free. Horse stud (thoroughbreds) on the front boundary forests on the North and West boundries and scattered five acre lots in the distance. The "Bingi Dreaming" walking track runs along the coast in front of us. It is approx. 10 km long and starts at the little village North of us called Congo and ends south at Tuross. Meringo beach is about half the distance if you get tired. No public transport. Only a daily bus or two (Murrays-Canberra, Premier-Sydney) along the highway that does drop/pickup at the Bingi turnoff or in at Moruya. Bring bikes, kayaks - The heart of Eurobodalla National Park is along this stretch of coastline and some great touring in your car to places like Tilba, Mystery Bay, Bermagui, Mt Dromedary, Montague Island can be had if you're wanting to be on the go. Eddie is a very friendly and communicative Border Collie, but will stay away if told. Rastus is a tortoise-shelled cat, full of pesonality and very cool. Neither is allowed inside. Both work on the farm. One rounds up (other animals) and the other kills (rodents). Please do not feed as their balance is also moderated for their continued employ. Enjoy them if you are so inclined.
