No 96 Chapel Lane is an 160 year old 1 bedroom, self contained cottage annexed to our house, nestled in the picturesque village of Butleigh. It is ideally situated for exploring the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury, Wells &Clark's Village in Street. We are also well placed to welcome those wishing to visit schools in the area including Millfield and Wells Cathedral. 10 mins from the A303 & 25 mins from the M5 we are a convenient stopping off point for those on a longer journey further west. The cottage is a newly decorated, self contained cottage and provides guests with everything they need for a short stay or longer break. The accommodation comprises of four rooms - kitchen, bathroom with walk in shower, lounge-diner with wifi, tv/dvd, and iplayer. Leading off from this room up a narrow staircase is the double bedroom. Decorated in calming tones of green and cream with a hint of Vintage style. Guests have a designated parking space on the drive next door to the cottage. There is a local bus service to Street and to Castle Cary and Wincanton but these are limited . There are no buses on Sundays and Bank Holidays. We live next door to the property and will be available ensure our guests have everything they need. Lovely quiet location with village shop/post office, farm shop and pub which serves food all within easy walking distance. There is also a tea garden located in the village with limited opening hours and a take away service. There are many scenic local walks including a Butleigh Village Heritage Trail. The nearby towns of Glastonbury and Street provide supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, take away food outlets and petrol stations. Limited bus service from the village to Street and Castle Cary /Wincanton. Connecting buses to Glastonbury, Wells, Yeovil and Taunton can be accessed from Street. We are within easy reach of walks on The Levels, The Mendip and Quantock Hills and the area is popular with cyclists because of its quiet and very flat roads! Please note that this is a self-catering listing so we do not provide breakfast but there is a shop and farm shop in the village.
