The vicar in his time received many famous guests, most notably of these was The British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone who was the Prime Minister in 1892. Our home is set in the middle of the beautiful Somerset levels. The levels are perfect for country walks, bike rides, interesting villages, vibrant towns and wild windswept coastal walks. We are also in close proximity to three professional standard 18 hole golf courses, we can even lend you clubs if you fancy a round. Our guests will be welcomed into a warm and friendly home where they can enjoy all our facilities including the use of our large rambling gardens. In the summer our Mulberry tree produces an abundance of luscious sweet berries which taste fabulous with locally produced vanilla ice cream. We are surrounded by country walks. Our favourite being a trek up the Brent Knoll 'mountain' to survey the surrounding countryside and spectacular views of The Severn crossings, Glastonbury Tor, The Somerset Levels, Cheddar Gorge and The Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Our home includes TV, WiFi, and a well equipped games room that includes a full size snooker table, a dart board and various board games. We are surrounded by small villages that have well established country pubs. Use one of our bikes and go exploring. We understand that people are individual and want to do their thing if you want to chat, chat. If you don't, don't. Saturday nights are usually spent watching Match of the Day while drinking red wine and locally produced farmhouse cider. You're more than welcome to join in and socialise: Banter is expected!! We are in Somerset. Our neighbourhood is very local to Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea, Cheddar and the Somerset levels. The somerset levels As well as supporting a huge array of plant and bird species, the Somerset Levels and Moors are dotted with quaint villages which bear witness to the fact they have been exploited by people since the earliest times. The Avalon Marshes is home to the world’s oldest known wooden trackway and ancient lake villages. The second largest haul of Roman coins ever found was discovered here. In the middle ages the monks from nearby monasteries drained much of the land to farm it. This is where King Alfred the Great lived and the legends of King Arthur still resonate. The Victorian house is in the centre of the somerset levels. Our location is perfect for walking, cycling, golf, wildlife and dining in a huge selection of restaurants and pubs. We are 30 minutes from the U.K's finest city, Bristol. We are also only 30 minutes from Glastonbury and Wells. And we are only a stones throw from Taunton, Bridgewater and The South Coast. Several public footpaths and cycle way nearby. We are not on a local bus route but the Bristol Flyer (airport bus) does travel along the nearby A38. We have an extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas having lived in the Bristol and Somerset area all of our lives.
