Cosy and peaceful cottage in Colerne, near Bath

Silver Cottage is a cosy property in the beautiful village of Colerne just 15mins from the historical city of Bath. Newly refurbished, it has two bedrooms, a private patio garden and is steps away from many fantastic walks. Colerne has two lovely village pubs, a village store with post office and a small cafe. It is within easy reach of Lacock, Castle Combe and many other stunning sites within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Silver Cottage was built circa 1800 and originally used as a hay barn for the main cottage that it adjoins. Following the addition of a new kitchen/diner and bedroom/bathroom it has become a spacious but cosy country cottage. A feature fire place is the perfect setting for its' log burner which warms the entire cottage during the winter months. The original stone walls create a cool environment during the summer to retreat from the south facing courtyard garden on the hotter summer days. As local village residents we are typically available during the stay. Colerne offers two lovely village pubs, one serving food daily and the other offering delicious pizzas from a wood fired oven from Wednesday - Saturday for both eat in and takeaway. You can reach the city of Bath within 15 minutes by car or journey down the hill from the village and take the canal or river down to the city. Malmesbury, Tetbury and the beautiful National Arboretum at Westonbirt are all with 45 minutes drive. Buses run daily to local villages and in to Bath city centre with greater regularity from Batheaston which is 5minutes down the road. Taxis are available to Corsham, Chippenham and Bath from which trains run regularly to London, Bristol and beyond. We are 15minutes from the M4 Junction 18 and once you arrive with us you can leave your car behind and explore the numerous walks following 'Walking in Colerne - Parish Map' or one of the many local countryside maps that can guide you to the many neighbouring villages and towns.
