C18th Cottage Shaftesbury Old Town

The Yellow House is a delightful slice of history. Nestled within the heart of the Saxon old town of Shaftesbury, this bright and charming grade II listed 1 bedroom cottage offers a home to all. On the boarder between the Blackmore Vale and Cranbourne Chase, Shaftesbury is a perfect springboard into the depths of Dorset woods and Wiltshire's Nadder valley. The cottage offers basic amenities including teas, coffees, and milk if requested on the day of arrival. Cosy and Characterful Bolthole There are two woodburners with plenty of wood in the small garden that can be used, or central heating if preferred. Be aware there are lots of original features including low beams, chalk painted walls and lime render. Therefore please do not expect a pristine decor :) clean and characterful is more the look. The oak wardrobe in the bedroom provides ample storage for clothing, with another cupboard beneath the stairs for coats and bags. There is a shower and a bath, feel free to use the lotions and potions displayed. You can bring pets, I kindly ask you keep them downstairs outside of the bedroom. All areas can be accessed including the sunny garden. If you do come stay I would very much appreciate it if you treat the plants with care. The only locked spaces in the house are the attic and sauna. We are usually on hand to provide you with your key, and assistance through your stay if required. Any questions do let me know. Shaftesbury is a wonderful quaint Saxon hiltop town. Teeming with history, the remains of the abbey, Gold Hill and the the Town Hall are a definitely worth a visit. There so many fantastic places to walk, run or climb. Whether it be around the local area or on the Dorset coast. Please feel free to ask for some suggestions! I try and use/buy as few plastic objects as possible. There is no designated parking for the property.
