Danish "hygge" in busy Belgium About this listing. Doing business in Brussels or Antwerp? Or citytripping? Enjoy the quiet country life after hours, in a comfy house with a nice garden, cottage-Scandinavian style, with wooden floors and a lot of “hygge”, as we Danes like to call it. It's only a paltry 25 minutes from Antwerp city center, the ultimate place to relax and enjoy. Special arrangements for pick-up at the airports/train stations are possible in weekends, upon request. The space My home is a big, wooden floor Scandinavian cottage style house, yet at the same time both modern and comfortable, completed as recently as in 2005. You will be sleeping in a spacious 30m² master bedroom with a kingsize 2m by 2m bed and a desk with refreshments/sweets and coffee. Wifi and bluetooth speaker in the room. You will have your own private bathroom with separate shower and a big bathtub. Your private restroom is right in between your bedroom and your bathroom. You will have keys to lock your bedroom and bathroom for your privacy. Guest access Please treat my home as though it is your own. I want you to feel comfortable and have a nice time here! We'll share a spacious, modern and fully equipped kitchen and a living-room. In the kitchen you may cook and enjoy a late night supper, or just knock back a nice glass of wine at the bar, after a delicious meal ;-) If you are not here for cooking by yourself, I will gladly advise on some nice places to eat nearby. There’s free high-speed WiFi for your convenience. Interaction with guests I enjoy good conversations over a morning coffee or afternoon tea, but at the same time it is important to me that you have your own time and space if you want or need it. On Sundays I like to enjoy a nice brunch, you are very welcome to join in. Please do not hesitate to ask me about the city, how to get around, nice bars, restaurants or anything else. I want you to have a nice time here, and I'd do whatever I can in order to make it so. The neighbourhood Located in between Antwerp and Mechelen-Brussels, is a cosy little town called Lint. The area is peaceful and rural, little traffic, but has all facilities and even a very nice cultural center called “De Witte Merel” just around the corner. It has a variety of concerts, movie nights, library and sports facilities – all of which I will happily elaborate on if you are interested. Lint has also been put on the map recently, because of its already famous filmstudio’s AED. Right next to Lint is the beautiful old city of Lier, also called “ het Brugge van de Kempen”. The Beguinage, UNESCO World Heritage Site, is definitely worth a visit and a romantic little boat trip on the 'Binnennete', in an old eel barge of the “Koninklijke Moedige Bootvissers” are only a few of the many nice things to do. Lints most delicious bakery is a few steps away and we have a big supermarket and butcher at walking distance (5 min). Free parking in front of the house. Getting around The trainstation Kontich/Lint is only a 15min walk. It will take you to Antwerp (15km), Mechelen (10km) and Brussels (+Airport) (35km). Just around the corner there is also a bus stop to neighbouring municipalities Lier, Duffel, Kontich, Hove and Antwerp. Other things to note - The house is non-smoking, but please feel free to enjoy my 200m² garden with excellent scenery. Adirondack chairs all for your pleasure. - Other check-in times are possible, depending on week- or weekend, pls just ask me!
