GeoDome on the edge of the Lake District
Unusual 6m Geodesic Dome on the edge of the Lake District. 10 minutes to Windermere. Great fun stay in a secluded large garden with private deck area and open views. Log burning stove, very comfy Simba foam mattress on double bed. Nespresso machine for coffee in the morning, microwave and a small fridge for keeping items chilled. Bedding is provided as well as a basic set of plates, cups and glasses. Private toilet and sink within the dome (NO shower) SORRY NO PETS Dedicated parking is available, and there is no problem coming by car but we would encourage guests to travel by train (Staveley 20 minutes walk - we can collect you) and a bus stop 50 metres away. We are not a campsite and the dome is located down in our garden. It is as private as we can get it for you with the window facing and unoccupied field and a decking area that is private on that side too. We always try to be around for check-in, and most of the time are available should you have any questions of problems, but we will leave you in peace otherwise! We are about half way between Kendal and Windermere. The main cycle lane into the Lake District is directly across the road, as is the Dales Way walking path. The Dome is in a semi-rural setting with views to the surrounding countryside. For clarity's sake, during busy rush hours there is some traffic noise from the road, but evenings and nights are typically quiet. Please note that we are not the Windermere Camping Site, despite the AirBnB map showing it close by! 10 minutes from the M6 J36. 8 minutes into Windermere by car. Cycle lane into Windermere across the road. Bus stop a few hundred metres from the house. If you take the bus from Windermere or Kendal you can take 555 or 599 or 755 to the Plantation Bridge stop. Staveley train station (Oxenholme to Windermere line) is just 20 minutes walk. No shower is available. Hot and cold water in the sink within the dome. Potential for noise from the main road, mainly during rush hours.
