Gite des Cerisiers, mountain views, great patio
This charming country gite is located at the base of the Vosges and its amazing mountain range. The area is peaceful and yet easily accessible to local amenities. We do take pride in sharing our holiday home with our guests and have equipped the gite with good quality fixtures and fittings so you can fully enjoy your holiday. This property is full of character, featuring a log fire, spacious and comfortable. The Gite des Cerisiers is the perfect place to visit the local area, including the vineyards. Alsace is rich in history and offers many castles, mines. Free wifi is available at the property. You can select the language for many films. I am available to contact for any queries you may have during your stay. My number is (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The house is located in a quiet area with wonderful mountain views and yet local amenities are easily accessible. It's the perfect place if you like the outdoors - there are numerous signposted walking trails to choose from, ideal for mountain biking or road cycling towards Selestat and the plain for a flat circuit or challenging climbs towards "Col de Fouchy" or "Col de Steige". Horseriding, swimming, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, fishing, paragliding and a circuit across trees / zip wire are also all available closeby. Some of my favourite walks include "La Tour du Climont", "le Chateau du Frankenbourg" and "La Roche des Fees". The wine road with its many wine cellars to sample local wines is a mere 15 mins away. In the local area you will find many places to visit including the "Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg", Le Parc des Cigognes in Hunawihr, Centrally located, the gite is 30 mins away from Germany and 1 hr away from Switzerland. If you like shopping, Colmar, Obernai, Strasbourg and Freiburg are good cities. Many restaurants across the valley are offering good food at reasonable prices. A great place to eat is the Restaurant Wendling in Ville. They specialise in fish dishes, but also offer meat dishes. They provide themed nights and they are also caterers so you can order a meal and take it away so you can relax at home. I can also recommend the patisserie Pfister to try some delicious cakes. You will need a car to access the property. Once on site you could spend your time walking, cycling, cross country skiing weather permitting. Some buses are travelling from Ville and to go to Strasbourg you can catch the train from Selestat station (only 20 mins on a fast train).
