Elmwood Cottage

Nestled in between the Great Alpine Road and the Snow Road in the heart of the North East Victoria, Elmwood Cottage offers a quiet, spacious home away from home a little off the beaten path. It is perfect base for exploring the King Valley and Beechworth wine regions, as well as the Milawa gourmet region and beautiful Bright and the Alpine valleys. The location also offers close access to the Ovens River and Murray to Mountains rail trail and the ability to explore the surrounding farmland. Elmwood cottage is spacious cottage inside and out. A spacious front cottage garden area. BBQ and sitting area at the rear of the cottage surrounded by trees and a few cottage gardens. Elmwood cottage also has a spacious undercover carport adjoining the cottage suitable for up to 2 vehicles. Greg and I do our best to greet our guests on their arrival or sometime during their stay. Unfortunately some days we maybe working outside of the farm and not be home at the estimated time of your arrival. We do make sure the cottage is ready and accessible for all our guests on their arrival day. Whorouly has a small local pub and cafe, however please note that the nearest supermarkets and restaurants are located in Myrtleford and Beechworth, a 10 - 15 minute drive away. There are no public transport options in Whorouly, however Wangaratta and Myrtleford do have a taxi service if needed. The closest Vline coach stop is in Myrtleford (12km away) and closest train station is located in Wanagaratta (30km away). As we are a working cattle farm during the winter seasons we would like to inform our guests at some stages our cattle can be a little noisey! This only lasting for short periods at a time 15/30 minutes or as long as the hay is loaded and ready to be fed out. During winter we feed our cattle hay specially on cold wintery days. This is a normal process for any livestock farming communities during the cold season. As we have yet had any complaints regarding this we do like to inform our guests of this. We are also able to provide a sofa bed that sleeps up to 2 people if you are more than 4 people. There is an extra fee of $25 per person per night.
