Nestled by the sand dunes with less than a minutes walk to the beach, is spacious Clipper Cottage.Sleeps 6/8;lounge & dining rooms with wood burners;large bathroom & kitchen; 3 bedrooms -king + en suite;double; & in the third either a single, two singles or a king. The garden is large, private & secure; three seating areas; a bench; BBQ; & bench swing. Private driveway & parking. Local shop; cafes; bar; fish merchant & a children's playground. A Blue Flag beach & Norfolk Costal path. This lovely restored 1874 Wrecker's cottage- which used to be two Wrecker's Cottages eons back - is spacious; peaceful; unique; well equipped and inviting, giving privacy yet at the same time, quick access via the back gate, to the beach. The garden is very secluded & a sun trap. There is a three seater bench swing to enjoy as well as three additional seating areas & a bench seat. For the children, a living wigwam is growing away. There's a brick barbeque in the garden for your use but please, please, leave it clean & tidy after use for the next guests as I won't have time to check it. Thank you. Improvements continue; 2021- new wood burner in the lounge: the downstairs toilet has been separated from the bathroom. In 2020 an en-suite was installed in the master bedroom & the kitchen had a new range cooker. New double glazed windows were installed in 2018 with the secondary being kept, so effectively it's triple glazed; & the old conservatory was also replaced in 2018. It's longer & double glazed too. The new kitchen is complete & ready ( Jan/Feb - 2022). I learnt that in the 1950's, the Cottage was owned by an aunt of Robbie Burns, the poet. Apart from that, Clipper survived the devastating floods of 1953 & was built by 'Wreckers' moons back. Every house has it story! WiFi is included. There is also a dishwasher. There are some books, DVD's, jigsaws, puzzles & games & lots of information literature relevant to various 'attractions' & things to do close by. Don't forget to see the seals & their pups during late Autumn & Spring, at Horsey Gap further away at Winterton, if you are interested. The Star at Lessingham is a good place to eat as well as Poppylands at Horsey & The Fisherman's Return at Winterton. All accept well behaved dogs. Do book for the Star as they get busy especially during peak times. There is information in Clipper for these & other places to dine & explore. As I live not too far away I can be of assistance if required. Otherwise a friend will be able to assist. Sea Palling is a quiet but busy little village offering Blue Flag beaches, they won it again in 2017, wonderful walks & cycle rides - The Norfolk Coastal path is very accessible; a pub; cafes; small amusement area; children's playground; a well stocked local shop & opposite the shop, look for the board that notes what fresh fish from the local fisherman, is available that day. Easy access to The Broads, other villages & coastal resorts & Norwich which is about 20miles away. Seals & their young can be seen in vast numbers on the beaches from autumn to early spring at Horsey Gap just four miles away. You should not be stuck for something to do regardless of the weather. Although there is public transport it is not very frequent so a car makes life so much easier. Clipper Cottage has ample parking for four cars if they are parked sensibly. Dogs are allowed but please, please, not on the furniture or beds. There is a fee of £15 for the dogs. If required, I can supply a cot (£10 ) & high chair (£5) for your baby. Bath sheets & hand towel are provided for each guest. Additional towels for beach use can be found in the linen basket in the bathroom. During the winter & autumn a bucket of coal & a basket of wood will be left for your use. Additional coal & wood can be purchased from the local shop. Although 3nights minimum stay is preferred, less nights can be considered a fractionally higher cost (+15%). For stays of over 7days ask me for a discount. It's a non-smoking cottage. No parties!
