New Cottage Hideaway Farm Stay Amidst the Trees
Designed with a couple's comfort in mind, positioned to complement it's park like setting, Kensington Cottage hideaway was recently built for you to share in the simple joys that only farm life can provide . “Socially distanced” to ensure safety comfort & privacy. Meet the cattle & feed the miniature ponies & chickens , let life on the farm replenish your soul. Campfire cook, &/or enjoy all the nearby attractions, do as little/as much as you desire. Indoor/outdoor cooking/dining areas provided. This farm stay cottage has been purpose designed and built adjacent to several absolutely majestic moreton bay fig trees which are features of the property. As such, it is not a converted shipping container, nor an attached residence, spare room or a converted carport after-thought. Your hosts built this cottage to showcase the ambience, views, convenience and the simple joys that life on this 20 hectares of heaven provides in abundance. Newly built (with couples in mind), Kensington is well “socially distanced” from any other farm resident to ensure your comfort, privacy and facility while life on the farm replenishes your soul. Set within park like surrounds, you will be struck by beauty of the location . As you enter your accommodation, you will be greeted by the well-equipped comfort of an indoor kitchen, and en-suite bathroom (including a toilet and shower) and an enormously comfortable bed . The adjacent shade sail is designed so that it can accommodate your car under cover or alternatively the 2 of you, whatever is your pleasure. An outdoor cooking and eating area provides the option of alfresco dining. While here, you can simply relax, maybe a stroll around your approximately 1 acre of surrounding enclosed land. Or maybe a picnic on the grass under the beautiful shade trees (equipped basket available on arrangement). While you relax, keep your eye out for our resident Koala (Blinky Bill) in the majestic gum trees. We also have a fairly frequent night time visitor, Rex the echidna. He is the scourge of the ant population. You may see him fossicking about in the fire light. Kookaburras, Tawny Owls, Gliders, Kangaroos - all are your neighbours. All our photos are taken on the property. What you see is what you get and much more. We don’t believe (like some hosts) in taking photos that portray our property as better than it is. We don’t need to. We are here just to share our little piece of paradise with you! We hope the recommendations we have reflect this. So much for you to enjoy while here on the farm and about the area ...the numerous experiences include… On Farm... • Meet n feed miniature ponies (TJ and Ruby AKA,,,Squeeky and Mushy) • Meet/feed the girls (Waghu and Droughtmaster cattle) * Maybe get your hair done by one of the hosts, a highly experienced hair dresser, having owned successful salons in the UK and Australia. (30 plus years of experience - by appointment) Ask for a quote, you will be pleasantly surprised as we have a fully equipped salon on farm but don’t have the overheads ! Please note - these on farm activities listed above are optional when you are staying more than one night. A host will accompany you for these activities. If you are staying only one night these activities may be organised pending host availability and payment of a fee. • Meet and feed the chooks (some food provided) • Organise your choice of mangos (when in season) on arrangement. • Maybe a sausage sizzle/campfire evening with your hosts. In the area.... • Participate in the local Goomboorian farm trail or just visit some of the farms e.g. Cooloola Berries (strawberries) or Lindols Macadamia farm for coffee/meals/ice cream • Visit to the coloured sands of Rainbow Beach or 4x4 • Feed the dolphins at Tin Can Bay • Visit / tour Fraser Island • Ride a steam train along the Mary Valley Any combination … or none….In the end, it’s totally all up to you! *Please advise us when booking a more than one night stay if you would like the meet n feed activity or other host accompanied activity or a hair dressing appointment so we can ensure our availability. If staying more than one night and you do not have access to a motor vehicle, we will collect you from the Gympie North railway station when you arrive and deliver you back to the rail station on departure. (complimentary by prior arrangement) As mentioned in our compendium, there are a number of options for eating out in the Goomboorian area. Some of those mentioned include Cooloola Beries, Lindols Macadamias, Silky Oak Tea Gardens and the various eating options in Gympie, Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. If you don’t wish to dine in house and are happy with takeaway, we are very lucky here to have a very good takeaway available at the Liberty Service Station right across the road. Pizzas, fish and chips, burgers, homemade pies and numerous other yummy options are available. If you pre order, it takes minutes to collect. Find the number on the net or in our compendium. Recent note- Due to a recent surgery the farm tour is temporarily suspended.
