Courtenay - B&B - no additional charges

Our home is 15 - 20 minutes drive from Christchurch Airport. Close to family-friendly activities and public transport. You’ll love the neighbourhood - Kaiapoi Lakes are within walking distance. Our home is suitable for couples. We previously owned a Bed & Breakfast and enjoyed it so much we have decided to share our new home. A recent guest left the following message for us: "To stay with Joy and Norman was like staying at home. Such a warm welcome, friendliness and kindness." Your room/ensuite has it's own private entrance, Queen bed with quality linen, TV, buffet with coffee/tea facilities, wine glasses etc. The full ensuite bathroom has a bath, toilet and shower. You can have your continental breakfast with us in the dining room or we can bring you a tray. We have a separate lounge that guests are welcome to sit in and just read a book or enjoy watching the tennis courts and playground opposite. If you want to play tennis we can assist with rackets and balls. two sitting areas and you are welcome to use one to just relax, read a book, watch others playing tennis etc. The Laundry is also available if required. Joy and Norman are both semi-retired. Norman spends many hours in the garden and also manages and works in the large gardens of one of the local Rest Homes. Joy works part-time from home assisting people from around the world with self drive tours of New Zealand. We will be here to assist and as we are both passionate about NZ we enjoy making suggestions for what to see and do. We live in a subdivision called Sovereign Palms. There are two lakes within walking distance and the area is know for walking and biking. The local golf club (where you will get a warm welcome) is also within walking distance of the house. The bus into the city is walking distance away (we are happy to shuttle our guests too and from local restaurants). Bus fares are relatively cheap and this is a relaxing way to see Christchurch City. We do have a beloved Cat whose name is Milly. She is very friendly and loves people. If we have people who don't feel the same about her that is not a problem - we just ensure she stays in another part of the house.
