This excellent semi-detached cottage, set within the grounds of an adjacent manor house, is just a gentle stroll away from the ancient priory village of Cartmel, on the Cartmel Peninsula. Originally the manor house stables, this charming and elegant cottage is one of several cottages on this quiet and secluded site, which has pretty grounds, a duck pond, and a stream which is home to a good variety of wild birds. Offering ground floor accommodation, the cottage has an open plan living area with a cosy woodburning fire to keep you snug during chilly evenings, as well as a comfy bedroom and a lovely bathroom. Outside is a small patio area in the shared courtyard, where you can relax and enjoy a morning coffee. The Front room has a sofa with a pull out foot rest for your comfort. Tv, DVD player, vinyl record player and a log burner. Surrounded by a gentle landscape that stretches down to the coast, the cottage offers superb accommodation, with award-winning restaurants and tasty specialist food shops within walking distance, and is just the spot for a relaxing break. Why not plan a walk to Cartmel, heading past the racecourse and through the pretty village with its impressive medieval priory and village square? Or, explore the beautiful Lake District, with Lake Windermere just six miles away. The cottage is 0.9 miles from the centre of Cartmel and will take you around 15/20 minutes to walk it. It can sometimes be difficult to park in Cartmel as a lot of residents have to use road parking but you can park at the racecourse... cost is roughly £2.20 for 2 hours. Taxis are available and we have left a card on our information board in the kitchen. We provide the following for your stay...
