La Palafitta sull’Isola is a lakefront property located on Monte Isola, a large island on Lake Iseo, in the hamlet of the Port of Siviano, 90 km from Milan in Northern Italy. It is a restful island retreat in a unique rural setting away from the hustle and bustle. Peace and tranquility will envelop you as soon as you disembark from the ferry. Welcome to the island, I will be glad to share with you this place that I love so much! The garden of the house is directly on the lake with private access. La Casa Palafitta is a two-storey little villa surrounded by a small garden with olive trees directly overlooking the lake. Access is via a pedestrian street at the back. On the ground floor you will find a large porch and a room with bathroom and shower. Going up the external staircase you will find yourself on a large and sunny terrace facing south and west. Inside, a living room, kitchen and three double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and bath. You can explore the lake by swimming, canoeing or boating. If you prefer to walk or ride a bike, the island and the surroundings offer you numerous excursions and places to discover. Relax reading a book on the hammock in the shade of the olive trees, enjoying the refreshing breeze on the hottest summer days. The Palafitta house is this and much more! You will have your keys and you will enjoy your stay in total independence. Welcome to La Palafitta sull’Isola, I will be happy to provide you with information and news. Books and maps are at your disposal to learn more about the area and enrich your stay. The Palafitta house is located in the quieter part of the island, reached by ferry a few times a day. The song of cicadas and birds keeps you company by day and that of crickets by night. To do shopping you can go up to the village of Siviano by a steep road, walking 10/15 minutes in the woods, or go by boat to the weekly markets on the mainland. At the Port of Siviano there is only one restaurant with a beautiful terrace overlooking the lake. Numerous trails line the island giving you beautiful views of the lake and the mountains that surround it. If you plan to take a vacation on the island consider that you need good mobility and are able to walk on steep inclines. It is possible to explore the island by renting bicycles and canoes in Carzano and Peschiera, in addition to the public service of ferry and minibuses. No cars are allowed on the Island. To reach the Palafitta house we advise you to leave your car in Sale Marasino, where you can find a paying car park. The tobacconist and the bar sell daily and weekly tickets. Sale Marasino is also reached by train from Milan. From here you can take the ferry service to Port of Siviano where you will be welcomed. Once disembarked, walk 300 meters along a pedestrian cobbled street towards the Romene area. If you are considering a quiet holiday in silence this is the ideal place.
