The town with its eclectic mix of shops from artisans to its cafes. It’s like walking onto a movie set a couple of hundred years ago. The many big verandahs from the shop fronts and wide streets enhanced by no powerlines which can takeaway from its ambience. Gather with the locals for a coffee alfresco style under one of the verandahs laneway or outside under a tree. Day trips to many enticing regional towns such as Daylesford, Hanging Rock, Kyneton, Castlemaine and Maryborough. Your stay is really unlimited by your imagination. The wonderful spiritual place of the Grampians is only 2 hours away. It’s possible to enjoy a full day exploring one of these places. Clunes is a delight to meander around the Main Street and mingle with locals. Saturday morning it’s vibrancy is not to be missed and enjoy a coffee or breakfast. I recommend a walk around the historic buildings and homes and creek walk all on foot. Getting to the other sights and nearby towns such as Talbot, Creswick Daylesford and Maldon a car is essential. It’s worth noting the train runs from Melbourne stopping daily. All conveniences are in the property for you. Be sure to look for the wonderful sunsets enjoyed from the dining room windows or west facing windows. On a clear night step outside the back door and look up to the stars and see the exquisite canopy of constellations and stars it will also delight you and remind you of your youthfulness.
