Rough Luxe Modern Coach House

Our recently modernised Coach House has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We offer rough luxe interiors, top quality mattresses with gorgeous linen, lovely art work and that's before you head outside! While admittedly in close proximity to the main house, our coach house offers completely private accommodation. Summary of the Coach House: Our space is unique because it features great interior design and is finished to a very high specification inside to give guests a real sense of comfort and luxury in our 5 acre patch of the Dorset countryside. Ours is an entirely new space created from an old coach house with the renovation completed in the Spring of 2014. The stand-alone guest house is spread over nearly 1,200 square feet of ground and first floor accommodation and is comprised of a main bedroom with an en suite shower room, a very large upstairs bedroom and further large bathroom. There's a well designed eat in kitchen and a plush living space on the ground floor, too. Other useful and basic information - the Coach House is very well insulated, well lit, and cosy cosy in the winter thanks to our efficient and eco friendly air source heat pumps. Details about the accommodation: Downstairs the kitchen, dining, and living space occupy a generous and airy open plan space measuring 24ft x 18ft. Your living amenities include a very large 10 foot long Sofa Workshop sofa with chaise, footstool, huge Icelandic sheepskin throw and 2 cosy woollen blankets. We know it's a comfy living space and can say with confidence that it's perfect for curling up and catching a film on 40" Sony smart TV, snoozing or reading. We have a variety of films, books and magazines on hand for your enjoyment as well as local guides and top tips for enjoying your experience of the Dorset Wiltshire border. The kitchen area only recently been completed, rough luxe touches in the form of gorgeous kiln dried French oak for the cupboard units, plus a large Franke sink and a 4 'ring' induction hob with a double oven. For your toast or crumpets, a 4 slice Dualit toaster in matching chrome. The silver Smeg fridge freezer will be ample for your chilled food and drink needs. We have an upcycled antique kitchen table (40" x 52"), which comfortably seats 4 -6 adults or a mix of adults and children. We have 4 dining chairs and two stools at the present time. Stoke high chairs available upon request. Main Bedroom (12.5' x 16') & Ensuite: features a lovely, new king sized mattress from John Lewis and super-soft 300 thread count cotton sheets from Loaf. There're plenty of natural light filtering in through a glazed double door with optional entry to a patio area directly outside. The full length drapes are in lovely Belgian linen sourced from Notting Hill's The Cloth Shop, providing you with a lovely dark room to sleep in. There are, of course, bed side tables and lights, and ample space to hang your clothing and store your cases and bags. The bathroom is very well appointed features a fully tiled large shower, a loo and a hand sink with over basin mirror. We provide one large bath towel, one small bath towel, a flannel and a hand towel for each guest, and a bath mat for each bathroom. Dorm Room (22' x 12.5') & Separate Bathroom (8' x10'): first-floor accommodation at the Coach House features a totally gorgeous dorm-style room and play room with 4 individual beds, again with mattresses from John Lewis and this time with lovely lazy crushed Belgian linen, again from Loaf. The bespoke upcycled beds are made from reclaimed pallets and are on locking casters, the beds can be rearranged to suit your party. There are four large velux windows in this space all with roll-down black out blinds should you wish to keep the light out during nap time! There's a lovely East facing panoramic view window at the end of the room, you can get a glimpse of Gold Hill toward Shaftesbury and Hambledon Hill toward Shroton. Note that this room is in the roof space and follows an A line, maximum head-height is 7'. It's a completely comfortable space for adults as well as children, but there is restricted head height and we don't think it's a suitable room for someone with limited mobility. The entire upstairs space is fully considered for smaller guests (I.e. Children!) - we have plenty lovely toys and books, anything from Playmobil to wooden blocks to Fischer Price Small People. The very large bathroom upstairs has a free standing bath and well as a sink and a loo. Towel rail to keep you cosy and a roof light to provide plenty of natural light and of course, privacy. Baby / Child friendly: We think we're exceedingly considerate of the needs of our smaller guests and their parents. A travel cot comes as a standard item, let us know if you'll use it and we can supply sheets and bedding. Further nursery or baby items including a high chair, plates, bowls and cutlery can be supplied upon request. There's an enormous climbing frame outside - please make good use of it and all of the toys outside. I know two excellent CRB checked and NVQ3 qualified nursery staff available for babysitting at at rate of £10/hour. I use these young women regularly and can verify they are excellent. Further assistance: We can put you in touch with a local, reliable professional taxi driver. Garden, climbing frame, all out door toys, the paddock and car parking for two cars. We can accommodate bicycle storage as well. I'll leave you alone with my contact number should you need anything! What's not to love?! After a healthy countryside break? Head out for a hike in Duncliffe Wood, Ashmore Wood, or the Fontmell Downs. Cycle trains aplenty and lots of scope for horse riding. National Trust extravaganza? Stourhead, Fonthill Gifford, Kingston lacy, Corfe Castle, Sherborne Abbey... After a delicious, grown up meal? No problem, we've got a really cracking selection of foodie destinations within an hours drive through our gorgeous countryside including The Pig at the Beach, The Roth Bar at Hauser & Wirth Gallery, At the Chapel, the Beckford Arms, The Fontmell....the list is long! If you've got children in tow, head immediately to The Cricketers for relaxed meal prepared to a deliciously high standard. Playground opposite and an extensive listing of Purbeck Ice Creams flavours for good eating. After a weekend shut away from it all? I can supply you with delicious prepared meals to pop in the Oven from Cook! Alternatively, I can arrange that the food for your stay be fully ready for you upon your arrival (surcharge as £50 per day for a party of 4). Holiday with the small children? Easy Peasy. There is virtually no end of things to do rain or shine. Lovely Studland Bay in reach within an hours drive, of course tonnes of local options like the lovely Honeybrook Farm, fantastic Stourhead, amazing Fleet Air Arm Museum, gorgeous walks... There are loads of bike trails, as well. You need to know that our Coach House is very close to our actual house, we'll call it the Main House. I have 4 smallish children who are about as well as two black Labradors! Its a peace and quiet rural setting, but you will see us around. It's a haven for children here, we have over 2 acres of mowed lawn, all of which is situated far away from any road traffic, a gigantic climbing frame, plenty of outdoor games and balls, etc. This is a place for visitors who are happy to be near(ish), although completely apart from my family. Another item to highlight is our large, although COMPLETELY fenced off pond on the perimeter of our property. There is a mature hedge and a fence fully clocking access to the pond. There is a 3-4 foot boundary between the fence and the pond. We've made it as though the pond isn't (Website hidden by Airbnb) not visible from the children's play areas, being occluded by dense and mature hedging. I can send pictures to make you feel at ease.
