The Rose Room

Twin beds in this cottage-style bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The room also provide tea-making facilities, WIFI and a writing desk. Copious breakfasts are offered as is access to our lovely and extensive gardens and pool. We offer a beautiful room with a cottage feel in our lovely house and well tended gardens. Coeur de Rose is sited in the centre of the little hamlet of Rix, 10 minutes walk from the River Rhone in the beautiful but little know region of the Bugey. Come and visit the Bugey and neighbouring Savoie and Dauphine and use our home as your base. Apart from the Rose Room, you will also have access to a second kitchen on the ground floor should you need to heat baby or children's food plus breakfast area (inside or out on the terrace, as you prefer) plus our extensive gardens and swimming pool. There are also lock-up areas for bicycles / motorbikes, etc. We want you to enjoy your stay with us and so we are happy to give you as much time and information as you require about our home, our village and the Bugey region; where to go, what to do and where to eat. If we can be available (no promises) we will happily take you to one of the many flea markets in the area and help you haggle for bargains Rix is a small hamlet 5 minutes walk from the D19 and ten minutes away from the lovely River Rhone. Rix depends on the village of Lhuis - a five minute car ride up a steep lane. Lhuis offers a restaurant we recommend, a grocer/general store/butcher, a bakers, a post office and a beautiful and ancient church. We are happy to tell you about other restaurants around us or if you wish, you can request Veronique to prepare a home cooked meal in the evening or a simple or gourmet picnic hamper for lunchtime. While there are a few local buses, it is better to forget local transport! So you will need some form of transport: bicycles, motorbikes or car to get around. Our home is located in a beautiful rural setting, very peaceful and tranquil. For some, the downside is that some form of transport is needed to get around. We welcome many guests from the Veloroute (Via Rhona) who arrive on bicycles, others on motorbikes and of course in the family car. Our region has just added a tourist tax of €0.55 (includes a 5 centimes local community tax) per adult per day. We apologise for this but will have to charge this small tax at the time of entry to Coeur de Rose.
