The 4 Sisters House - A house with history

We prepared the house to match the history of the house, our parents and grandparents, our history, and comfort in this new phase of our house, The 4 Sisters House. The 4 Sisters House combines the charm of the old with the comfort of the modern and is ready to welcome you. We will do our best for you have a wonderful stay! Welcome!! Ilda & Laurinda The 4 Sisters House, was the home of our parents and formerly of our grandparents which is now our meeting house and is also available for rent for holiday. The house consists of a part built by our grandparents, dated 1947 and another part built by our parents. The old part has two comfortable and cozy bedrooms with high ceilings, a living room and a bedroom that can be used as a bedroom or as a place of reading, writing or work. The new part, as we call it, which was built by our parents, consists of two full bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room and a bedroom equipped with a crib if needed. After the hectic life of our parents, and the hard work in the field, the house now invites to relaxation and quality time ... Our guests have access to the whole house, however, for safety reason, the wood oven can't be used. Access to sleeping rooms that are not in the reservation is limited. Our guests will have our telephone number in case they need to communicate with us. The landline can be used to receive calls and to make emergency calls. Upon check-in we ask our guests for an emergency contact, even when our goal is never use, so Please Keep it Save!!! Leisure activities in the village of Porto da Cruz still a discover to ourselves. Among the most loved and experienced by us regularly, are the black sand beach and the pools of sea water that are really very beautiful. In the winter time the swimming pool are not in use and do not have a lifeguard. In compensation sometimes the beach have the bigger sand and the water is even better then in the summer. We also took the “Levada do Castelejo”, “levada Portela - Ribeiro Frio” that are also amazing. Among other activities to do in Porto da Cruz there is the possibility of practice or learn surf, visit the sugar cane mill, Engenho do Porto da Cruz and try the famous Rum from Madeira and of course ... read a book and enjoy a “Niquita” ,special cocktail, in one of the several bars right by the sea ... In the village of Porto da Cruz there are several restaurants where you can enjoy the traditional Madeira dishes and local fresh fish. Please note that you are at 10/15 Min drive from Machico, so all the activities in Machico are available, like the yellow sand beach, the boat to see dolphins and whales, sometimes theater, big supermarkets, shops and more The 4 Sisters House has very easy access. We advise the use of car by our guests ... by car the house is 20 \ 25min from the airport, 10/15 m from the town of Machico and 5/8 min from the center of Porto da Cruz. Funchal is about 35/45 min. In case you choose not rent a car, public transportation is possible. The bus stop is very close, around the corner, and is really easy to go to the center of Porto da Cruz, to Machico, to the Airport and to Funchal. You will have to know the schedule but we can help you with that. In Porto da Cruz there is local taxi service available. During your stay, if necessary and previously chatted with our guests, we will go home to water the flowers and reap fruit. Our guests can use the existing fruit and aromatic herbs.
