The Lady of Hydra, is a historical sea front private Villa, located in the area of Vlychos, The villa has been attentively designed by its owner to the smallest detail to become the dream summerhouse of a lifetime. Offering complete privacy from neighboring houses, its front openings embrace spectacular sea views that are on fire during sunset! The private beach is available to our guests all the time. Guests will accommodate in absolutely superb large en suite bedrooms. “Lady of Hydra” is a villa situated on top of a rock above the sea. It is an old traditional mansion that has been refurbished. Its decoration is a unique blend of Greek tradition, rustic style with an aristocratic feel and look and the personal touch of the woman that built it, that is obvious in details. Every object has a story, every spot demonstrates the house’s unique character, elegance & authentic style. White wood, island stones and blue decoration ornaments are prevailing. The furniture is a combination of Grandma’s antiques as well as modern pieces that blend in smoothly to make living comfortable. Indoor space is bright by the sun light and welcoming to stay in, peaceful & cool to have a quiet sleep or just read your book. Simple, comfortable and memorable makes you feel at home. However, you will definitely prefer to stay outdoors. The villa has 3 different verandas and a very big garden area, all with a breathtaking view of the sea and many different outdoor settings to relax, enjoying the sun or the cooling shadow. Depending on the time of day and the sun’s position, you can choose the right, magic spot. The early morning sea view and the sunset are the gifts of nature, that one will never forget. The Villa is divided in two levels: The upper level where the main house and the garden area are located, totally private and autonomous and the lower level where a small room is located with the presence of the owner for gardening and maintenance purpose I am always available to provide additional information to our guests. Looking at the front of the house, you may enjoy the sea breeze, the sea eagles flying, the boats sailing and the breathtaking view of the horizon. Looking at the back side of the house, you will see the sun rise and feel the fresh air of the mountain. The sea and the mountain join hands and offer you piece of mind, balance, the vibe of eternity and the beauty of nature. You can enjoy the silence of staying at the house garden, reading or just enjoying the view, swimming on the private beach or go running, hiking and horse riding. - Within 10 minutes’ walk you can find traditional tavernas and enjoy your coffee or meal, join the organized beaches and the buzz of people. - Within 20 minutes’ walk towards the west, you can enter the pine forest path. - Within 20minutes’ walk towards the east, you can visit the traditional Kamini Harbour. - Within 40 minutes’ walk towards the east you will reach the Port of Hydra and join the town’s vibe. Transportation is mainly through Sea Taxis. Private sea taxis are available on call at the house dock or any other dock and can take you wherever you wish. Public transportation through bigger size sea taxis is available at Vlychos or Plakes dock and can take you at the port of Hydra. The house itself offers two beaches under your feet, one of which is 100% private. You can enjoy beautiful meals all day round at traditional tavernas either at Vlychos or Plakes beach. A perfect location for swimming, hiking, running, horse riding and exploring nature. You may stroll the hiking paths of Hydra, either towards the east of the house going to Kamini and the Port of Hydra or towards the west passing Plakes beach, Palamidas dock, into the pine wooded path reaching “Episkopi”, a gorgeous, serene valley situated on a high plateau above the pine forest. The surrounding sea is visible from all the routes, offering an amazing and colourful pallette of beauty.
