Recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard this luxurious self-catering cottage oozes romantic country style chic. Cosy and stylish ... a woodburner to snuggle up to on cool evenings, stunning views, amazing walks from your front door. Sunlit upper and lower terraces. BBQ. Firepit. Parking on drive. Gorgeous light-filled open plan living area on the first floor (with stunning views across the valley), a wood burner for cooler days (basket of logs provided) and a fabulous well-equipped Neptune kitchen. The sunlit terrace enjoys glorious rural views - perfect for morning coffee/sundowners on warm summer days. Sumptious bedroom in soft greys and blues exudes a sense of calm, and a dreamy king-size bed to sink into with crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen. New England style blinds together with linen curtains ensure lazy lie ins. Generous sized ensuite wet room with rain head shower, w/c, underfloor heating, heated towel rail and luxurious fluffy towels. French doors from bedroom lead out to lower terrace which is surrounded by scented roses, honeysuckle and pots of herbs (with BBQ and firepit) The lodge is completely self-contained set in the grounds of the host's property which nestles below the Lodge. Free WiFi. Flat screen TV (Free view, NB not terrestial) and DVD player. Board games and DVDs. Mobile phone reception can be variable depending on provider. Parking for one guest car on our drive. Janice, Robert and Misha (our lovely border collie) Step outside your front door and explore the beautiful rolling countryside on your doorstep - woodlands, wild flower meadows and far reaching views. Follow the brook down to Northend/Batheaston or head across to Marshfield which offers two pubs, a lovely village shop and tearoom. Or walk up to Solsbury Hill and onto Charmeydown and look round the site of the old aerodrome. Wonderful bird life abound - Kites circling overhead, geese flying in V formation from the nearby reservoir, and the soothing sound of owls hooting at night .. We are a little over 4 miles to historic Bath (15 mins drive). Car recommended, but taxis to and from Bath are very reasonable. To explore Bath you could drive to Lansdown Park and Ride which is about 4 miles away. Places to visit: Treat yourself to Twilight package at Bath Thermae Spa. Lovely Wiltshire villages to explore: Lacock (lovely National Trust village); Castle Combe (voted prettiest village in England); Biddestone (quintessential Cotswold village with village green, duckpond and two pubs. Bristol airport is 21 miles away.
