Melrose Cottage - Gateway to Dartmoor

Bright and airy, newly renovated cottage in central Okehampton. Off street parking for two cars and secure bike storage available. Ideally located for the Devon cycling mecca, the Granite Way, which is at the end of the road. A number of pubs, shops and restaurants are a short walk away. Dartmoor itself is also accessible by foot or a few minutes in the car. The sandy beaches of North Devon are a 40 minute drive away if you fancy a surf! The Cottage is set back from the road, in a quiet and secluded spot backing on to Simmons Park, but still located centrally in Okehampton. The property was completely renovated in late 2020. There is an upside down layout with bedrooms on the ground floor and living area upstairs. Downstairs you have a master bedroom with a kingsize bed, a double room and a single room. There are two bathrooms - one with a bath/shower and the other with a shower. Upstairs you have an open plan living area with a lounge area, kitchen area and stunning conservatory dining room. The entire property is solely used as a holiday let so there are no shared areas or belongings in the property. Secure bike storage is available on request. We operate self check in but can be easily reached by phone, email or through the airbnb app. We are located right next door to the property so can deal with problems and enquiries quickly. We understand people want their own space on holiday so we will only be on hand if you get in touch ! Nearby activities, depending on the time of year, Covid and age of participants: Castle Drogo, horse riding, cycling, walking, golf, Dartmoor Zoo, Crealy Adventure Park, RHS Rosemoor, a cookery school, the river dart country park (go ape climbing course and various outdoor activities), a winery where you can have lunch or do a tour of the vineyard, beaches, surfing/bodyboarding, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, art galleries, fine dining restaurants.
