Bedrooms in an 11th century Château in Gascony
Modernised 20 years ago in a traditional but chic style - this 1000 yrs old Chateau is a haven of peace and tranquility, with resident Owls and Bats living in our old dungeons and vaulted wine cellar (still with many old Armagnac barrels - and the original pressoir for crushing grapes). The Chateau and its drawbridge were torched during the Revolution in 1798, but the top floor was rebuilt in early 19th century: a recent guest said "But this is a Poet's House". Toulouse airport: 29.5 mins Free parking on our gravel drive, deliberately overgrown to encourage our several families of Bats and Owls Am available to chat at most times of the day. I love meeting new people especially Les Francais. Very rural Fields and wooded Valleys on three sides. We are on the edge of a very typical Gascon village still with its own epicerie, bar and petrol pump. We have a beautiful mediaeval church whose ancient bells tell us when to get up, when to have lunch and when to go to bed! That apart it is very quiet and peaceful here. You need a motor car to get here. There are no buses or trains to our village
