Charming riverside house

Our 18th century house is fully renovated, located in the Burgundy region 16 km north of Vezelay. Its exceptional location along the Yonne river combines swimming, calm surroundings and is near the medieval towns of Vezelay, Clamecy, Auxerre and Avallon. The garden slopes to the river with its herons, ducks, and swans, and extends to surrounding woodland. The house is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The ground-floor living room has a fully equipped kitchen with a large wooden table that seats 6, and a lounge with a sofa bed. The lounge through which one passes to go upstairs to is a spacious room with a sofa bed for 2 persons, features Internet access and a 50-inch screen, DVD player for watching movies or satellite TV. On the first floor, under the beams, there are two double rooms with internet access, one very large, has a high-tech bath, and a queen size bed. The shower room has a toilet, another separate. The charm of the house is its view, the soothing calm of the river,. The rail transport is at the Châtel-Censoir station, 2 km walk. Paris is 2:30 away, so you don’t need a car necessarily. Shops and services are available in this scenic village, including a post-office, drug store and doctor. The supermarket is 10km away. Vezelay allows one to delve into the history of Burgundy and discover its architectural beauty as well as its gastronomic delights. Hiking is relatively easy as are the famous Saussois rocks nearby, and cycling is easy and relaxing along the scenic Nivernais Canal. In August we rent the house for minimum 2 weeks
