Stunning farmhouse with pool located in vineyards

This stunning 300 year old farmhouse, typical of the Charente-Maritime region, makes the perfect holiday destination. Located in the vineyards of the Gironde, 45 minutes drive north of Bordeaux, the setting is rural and the charm of the area is its simplicity, with beautiful unspoilt countryside, towns and beaches (not to mention amazing food and wine of course!). While the immediate area is all about peace and quiet, the towns of Cognac, Saintes and St Emilion are all a short drive away. The house is well equipped for parties of up to 10 people, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms (though one of the bedrooms is set up for children, with twin beds). There's all the amenities you'd expect - washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, etc as well as an outdoor heated swimming pool in the private, walled garden. Guests have full use of the house and garden, which contains a heated swimming pool. We don't live on site but have a housekeeper and groundskeeper who live locally and on hand to fix any problems, and answer any questions. The local delicacy is pineau, a fortified wine served as an aperitif. This, along with the usual french standards (great cheese, wine, bread etc), becomes an feature of every trip to the area! There are a handful of very good restaurants within 10 miles of the house - we can provide tips! And if you can tear yourself away from the pool, there are sandy beaches just a 20 / 25 minute drive away. You'll need a car as the house is located on a hill overlooking a valley full of vineyards, on the outskirts of a small town, St Dizant du Gua. Whilst there are small shops for basic provisions locally, the nearest large supermarket is a 15 minute drive away in Gemozac.
