Pretty detached cottage in the Cotswolds

A delightfully converted former post office and bakery, now providing cosy, self-contained living over two floors. The cottage is situated in a peaceful village on the side of a beautiful valley. The little terrace offers far-reaching views over the wonderful Cotswold countryside and beyond. Excellent walking country. The cottage has everything you need for a cosy, home-from-home break. It has a working log burner and is stocked with essentials to include tea/coffee/sugar and a few little extras as well to make your stay more comfortable. One dog is allowed with advanced notice, but please do not leave them alone in the cottage or allow them on the sofa or bed. The cottage has one parking space which is directly outside the front door. Please do not park in the space by the phone box as that is used by local residents. Guests have full and private access to the entire property and its outside area. We will provide you with our contact details (we live next door) and are happy to help with anything you may need. Set in the winding lanes of the Stroud valleys, the small community of Chalford, in the heart of the Cotswolds, is characterised by a number of close neighbouring villages, each with its own pub. France Lynch's The Kings Head serves home-cooked food, within a 5 minute walk of the cottage. There is also a wonderful coffee shop locally, The Lavender Bakehouse, and takeaway fish and chips from The Old Neighbourhood pub in the next-door village of Chalford Hill. There are some beautiful walks directly from the front door, and some wonderful local attractions to explore. The Rococo Gardens at Painswick, Prinknash Abbey, Westonbirt Arboretum and several National Trust locations are all a short distance away. And with the towns of Stroud, Cirencester and Cheltenham all within a 15 to 30 minute drive, you have great access to a wonderful variety of local shops, antique fairs and fantastic cafes and restaurants.
