Pretty stone cottage, sleeps 4, well equipped, quality linen and furnishings. Patio, bbq, set in large garden with large heated pool, overlooking fields and woods, in a countryside hamlet near Futuroscope, Loire chateaux and Poitiers. It has private access independent from my holiday home. Child friendly or romantic getaway. Refurbished February 2016, the cottage has fine views of rolling fields, the garden and the local chateau grounds beyond. It comprises twin bunk bed room leading to shower room and toilet, small bedroom with double bed, fully equipped kitchen/dining room, separate toilet, good size living room with French windows to its own patio where there is a barbecue, table, chairs and parasol. There are sun loungers by the pool. I can provide high chair, booster seat, steps, toilet seats, baby bath,a cot with bedding and children's holiday toys. There are swings, a little seesaw and washing line in the large garden . French and English TV reception and wi-fi is available although occasionally erratic. You will have your own space to feel private and relaxed, watch the birds or butterflies, or kick a ball about. Its a 2 minute walk into the woods. The pool is heated and one can be confident it can be used from May to August, but the months of April and September will be weather dependent and not guaranteed. There is no fence around it as it has an alarm which can be switched on or off. Safe use is your responsibility My French friends Stephanie and Fabrice will welcome you, (check in between 4pm and 7pm) and explain how to open and close the pool and what is where etc . They live fairly close by, should a specific issue arise. I am always at the end of a phone line too of course. Set in the heart of wine region Haut Poitou, we are an easy drive to Futuroscope, to Richelieu or to the Loire chateaux, to Fontevraud (Richard the Lionheart's burial), Chinon (where Joan of Arc first met the Dauphin), or the quirky Ch Le Riveau. St Puy de Fou is one the top 20 tourist destinations in the world. Horse riding and go carting can be arranged for the adventurous. Various animal parks and a zoo are nearby. Local vignerons will give you a warm welcome to taste their wine. The St Cyr Parc de Loisir has golf, tennis courts, boating etc. Walking , cycling on the Ligne Vert, canoeing on La Vienne, swimming or just lounging by the pool are the main other options! Lencloitre, with 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, 2 banks, various bread shops and restaurants, a small Saturday market and a large one the first Monday of the month, is 5 minutes drive from our home and 20 minutes from the A10 Autoroute. You can fly to Poitiers or Tours airports or even La Rochelle or Limoges and hire a car there, as you will need a car to get around. I provide good quality towels and bed linen, but please bring your own swimming towels. Pets are welcome, if you do not let them onto the beds and bring a cover of some sort if you want to allow them to sit on the sofa or armchairs. I provide 2 or 3 (dependant upon length of stay) dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. No washing machine powder is provided due to individual preferences. I provide 1 black bin bag for general rubbish and 1 bag for recycling. Guests are required to dispose of all their rubbish and bottles at the end of their stay. The Champe de Foire has all facilities. The BBQ must be emptied and left clean for the next visitors. Please leave the cleaning and sanitising materials for the next guests. Disposable gloves will not be provided as the French Health authorities regard them as a potential source of contamination. Whenever you leave the property please close the gates.
