Tasteful furniture with everything to make your stay comfortable. A secret hideaway! The grounds are beautifully maintained mainly laid to lawn with an orchard. There is a large pond in the centre. On entering the property down the drive you immediately feel a sense of space in rural countryside. We endeavour to make your stay as memorable and special as possible. The owner lives in a detached property also in the grounds. The property lets have been 4 star rated by Visit England (Quality in Tourism). Both holiday lets do not accept dogs and are no smoking. There is an extra bedroom which has a king size bed in it so can easily sleep 4. There is an extra cost for renting this room. Notes on accommodation: High quality, comfortable holiday accommodation. No Smoking Outside: The Pottery Shed and Owl’s Nest sit within the grounds of the resident owner's property - in a tucked away peaceful location in rural Sandhurst. The grounds are beautifully maintained mainly laid to lawn and an orchard with a large pond in the centre, all of which can be enjoyed by guests. There is a patio area outside each of the holiday lets with table and chairs. The properties do not accept pets and is non-smoking. We do offer discounts so please contact us if you are interested. The garden can be used by our guests. There is ample parking. We try to give our guests as much privacy as they like but we are around if they have a problem. Coast/Beach: Nearest beach:Camber Sands: 15 km Travel: Airport: Gatwick. Railway: Ashford: 25 km. Ferry: Dover. Train: Etchingham= 12 mins and Staplehurst = 25 mins. Train time to London - an hour. Car hire is recommended. Distances: Sandhurst is ideally located in a peaceful convenient rural location - 10 minutes from Cranbrook and Tenterden - 30 minutes from Ashford and the fast train to Paris - 35 minutes from the M25 motorway. Further Details: The area is known as 1066 Country. Rolling hills, steam railways and fairytale castles. The area is steeped in history and heritage. Budding historians can explore the many castles, historic houses, Cathedrals and stately homes found throughout the county. Bodiam Castle is less than three miles away. Attractions include: Walking - There are numerous, well defined public footpaths and bridal ways. Gardens - There are famous gardens and houses in the area including Sissinghurst Castle, Bateman's and Great Dixter House. Steam Trains - A steam train runs between Tenterden and Bodiam stopping at various stations en route. Rye – medieval gem of the Cinque Ports This picturesque market town is home to the enchanting cobbled Mermaid Street, the impressive Norman church of St Mary’s, a rich selection of antique and specialist shops and a thriving fishing fleet. Near Rye is Camber - renowned for its outstanding natural beauty with its miles of golden sands, safe bathing and a great location for beach combing. Hastings - This cosmopolitan town is home to the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe, the remains of the first castle in England to be built by William the Conqueror, a preserved Old Town and a strong local arts community. Battle - The birthplace of English history. This charming market town grew up around Battle Abbey and takes its name from the famous battle between England’s would-be rulers William Duke of Normandy and the Saxon King Harold. France - If you feel like it, it is easy to have a day out in France. We are less than an hour from Dover and the ports but only 30 minutes from Ashford International Train station. There are two main line stations to London close by. Train time to London just under an hour. There are many good pubs and restaurants which we can recommend. We feel you do need a car as although near a village The Pottery Shed is in the countryside.
