Quiet, in leafy surrounds with Glenbrook Lagoon 100m walk away where ducks and other wildlife reside. Restaurants, coffee shops & quaint boutiques are close by. Glenbrook Lagoon Retreat - “How’s the Serenity?” – Darryl Kerrigan (“The Castle”) This is our Castle, our home in the beautiful Blue Mountains– where you will have your own private side access, Queen room and ensuite. Close by is the beautiful Glenbrook Lagoon (100 metres away) with ducks and wildlife abound...a photographer's playground. A short easy stroll down Mitchell’s Pass to the Lennox Bridge – the oldest remaining sandstone bridge on mainland Australia (2km), is a fine example of truly amazing architecture for its time. We are situated conveniently to both Blaxland and Glenbrook Railway stations (10 minutes walk) in addition to a bus stop across the road. Charming Glenbrook Village is also close by, when on the first Saturday of every month from 8am – 12pm the locals get-together for the Rotary Craft, Farmers & Fine Food Market. In the same area is the Blue Mountain’s Information Centre and Jim Aitken's fascinating Australian Panorama Painting. Train travel from Blaxland to Katoomba (home of the infamous Three Sisters and Echo Point) is approximately 45 minutes away. The 7km round trip Nepean River Walk is approximately a 10 minute drive from here as is Lewers Art Gallery on the Nepean River. We are also Uber drivers so subject to availability we can to take you where you would like to go! A 3 minute walk to the local pub, “The Lapstone Hotel” with great food & nice atmosphere or Monte's Pizzaria (BYO), a Kebab & Pide shop, convenience store and Liquor shop means you are not far at all and have plenty of choice for meals or supplies. Our recently renovated Queen room is clean and comfortable with linen and towels supplied. The private access is down the side of the house and is a little too narrow for chairs and tables however you are more than welcome use our lovely front verandah that has chairs and a table for your morning coffee or afternoon/evening beverage. One single mattress and/or air mattress if required (fresh clean sleeping bags supplied for these at a small fee of $7 extra each to cover laundering). Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, television, ironing board & iron, ceiling fan, air conditioning and bar fridge too. The washing machine and dryer for fair and reasonable use is available at a small charge. Street parking available. 4x stairs for the private side access and 1 step down to the room.
