The whole house and garden We live only 30 meters from the Chateau and work from home, so we are always there to help you. We are also discreet and sensitive to allow you to keep your privacy. We know the area inside out and can advise you on the best routes and activities to do in the area. We are 20 minutes from Castellane and all services and 20 minutes from the Gorges du Verdon. It is a quiet and friendly place, only 20 people live in our hamlet all year round. In the commune of Castellane, Chasteuil, whose origins date back to the 16th century, is a small hamlet perched on a mountainside at an altitude of 900 metres and well exposed to the south. From its picturesque location, it overlooks the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon, famous for its canyon, hiking trails, white water sports, lakes and natural beauty. Take advantage of the GR 4 Sentier de grande randonnée 4, an important and very picturesque trail that runs through the hamlet of Chasteuil. Grab your binoculars and walk west towards the perched village of Rougon and enjoy a delicious crêpe at Le Mur d'Abeilles, an open-air restaurant nestled in front of a breathtaking panoramic view of the Gorges. From your table, you can watch the magnificent flight of the 2.5-metre wingspan Griffon Vultures. They have been reintroduced to the canyon in recent years and there are now over 150 of them. Walk east to our charming little Provençal town of Castellane, on the banks of the Verdon. The open-air market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the beautiful Place Marcel Sauvaire, the heart of life in Castellane. Oak firewood for the fireplace, € 4.50 per day.
