It was newly furnished, it has two balconies with lake-mountain view and two bathrooms, one with bath and one with shower. The open space including kitchen, dining room and living room is very large and bright. The apartment is equipped with all you might need for cooking, eating and relaxing. Your car can be parked in the private area around the house or in a garage (it is a single garage for medium size car). The Romanesque cloister and Lake Varese with cycle path can be reached on foot, as well as Lido di Gavirate, or the beautiful Parco delle Cinque Piante in Oltrona, or Villa Tatti in Comerio, which has an amazing view over the lakes. The house is 20 minutes' drive from Lake Maggiore (also accessible by train, the railway line Milano Centre/Laveno Lago Maggiore is 2km far) or those of Comabbio and Monate. Nice excursions possible in the nearby mountains or on the art / nature trail of Sacro Monte di Varese. Grocery store, tobacconists'/stationery nearby; bars, restaurants, pizzerias and supermarkets 2km. Chemists' 1km. Gavirate centre, the Lake of Varese, the Romanesque Cloister of Voltorre, Oltrona and Parco delle Cinque Piante, Villa Tatti in Comerio can be reached on foot. All the other places that you see in the photos are 20'/30' far by car. Borromee Islands can be reached by boat from Laveno, which is 20' by car from the house. In some days during the week I work at afternoon/evening. Depending on the day, I might ask my guests to check in before 13.00 or after 20.30. A well furnished grocers' shop is reachable on foot, as well as the tobacconists'- news agent and the bus stop (buses to Varese and Lake Monate). Two restaurants are reachable in 10/15 min. walk. Lido di Gavirate and the lake, with severals cafes, pizzerie and restaurants is 20' walking distance. Train station at 2.5km. The public parks of Villa Tatti Comerio and Cinque Piante Oltrona can be reached on foot. Bus stop (buses to Varese and to the beaches of Lake Monate) is at 10min. walk. Train station (trains to Lake Maggiore and Milano city centre) is 2.5km far. Further information about the lakes: For swimming: Lake of Monate (the best one, where motorboats are forbidden) and Lake Maggiore. For walking and/or cycling (cycle path all around): Lake of Varese (you cannot swim in this lake) and Lake of Comabbio .
