1800's Converted Mill in RSPB Nature Reserve
At the end of a 2 mile drive through a RSPB nature reserve you will find the old mill buildings. The property is an old flint mill build in the early 1800's. Surrounded by natural beauty, the Caldon Canal, River Churnet and Churnet Steam Railway. The property is nestled in a clearing on the valley bottom along with five other properties, and gives unrivalled access to the nature reserve. Inside you will find original brick work, wooden beams and original cast iron features. Once in the nature reserve, you have access on foot to the Churnet Valley Railway from Consall Station, the canal tow path in either direction, the local Black Lion pub a CAMRA winner as well as the attractions further afield such as Alton Towers, Trentham Lakes and the Peak District National Park. There is four bedrooms as well as spaces for additional temporary beds, for those additional staying. The garage area is out of bounds along with our room on the top floor. I won't be in the house with you during your stay, however any problems please call or email and I will do my best to respond as soon as possible. After a two mile drive to the main road, through a nature reserve, you find yourself on the valley bottom with only five other properties. It is quiet, peaceful, beautiful and tranquil. There is lots of walks and running routes from the mill, as well as access to the Churnet Valley Railway and the Caldon Canal. We do not allow stag/hen/parties. We do not allow young large single sex groups.
