We are happy to welcome visitors to our comfortable self-catering cottage situated on the South Downs close to Findon in the National Park. Approx 400m from the Monarchs Way leading to the South Downs Way. Double bedroom with ensuite shower room. Off road parking for 2 vehicles including camper vans. Great for walking or mountain biking. Take a short walk to the village where you will find 6 good pubs and restaurants. Close by is historic Arundel and beaches at Worthing & Littlehampton. A modernised 3 bed semi-detached 1911 cottage set in 7 acres of pasture with a small farm producing pasture raised free range hen/duck eggs and honey for resale at the farm gate. Bridle paths in three directions for interesting walks/biking. Guest shared sitting/TV room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, GF cloakroom & garden. We have 2 other double rooms available listed separately as “Heritage” and “Cissbury” or all three listed as “South Lodge Cottage”. Your hosts live next door. Host nearly always available to welcome guests and assist in person most days or by telephone/email/text. Guests may check in from 15:00 p.m. and check out by 11:00 a.m. A phone call, text or email giving an estimated time of arrival is always very helpful. We will always try to accommodate requests to change booking in/out times when distance or plane/railway/ferry timetables dictate. Happy to store luggage before and after booking times on the day of arrival or departure. Easy walking distance to six local pubs and restaurants including an Indian restaurant and take-away, and the village shop. Located on a bridle path on the side of the South Downs in the National Park overlooking Findon village offering super walks and views across farm and downland. Quiet, semi-rural location close to Cissbury Ring and Chanctonbury Ring iron age forts. A 40 minute drive or less will include Arundel Castle, Petworth House, Parham House, Amberley Castle, Amberley Open Air Museum, Arundel Wild Fowl Park, Goodwood and Fontwell Race Courses, Goodwood Motor Circuit, Cass open-air Sculpture Park, Chichester Cathedral, Fishers Farm, South of England Showground, National Trust areas, Brighton city, Worthing, Chichester, seaside resorts stretching from Bognor to Brighton and lots of picturesque and historic villages around Sussex. 5 minute walk to bus stops for Worthing and Horsham. Several local taxi and private hire companies. West Worthing Station is approx. 15 mins by car, 35mins by bus or 70mins walking No pets please, we have free range livestock. We are on the side of the Downs so garden steps make wheelchair access a challenge. Travel cot, stair gates and highchair available on request. Livestock areas are off limits due to DEFRA bio-protection regulations to prevent the spread of Avian Flu. We do provide complimentary breakfast essentials for the first morning of your stay.
