Vila Marta, Cozy Guesthouse in the Tatra Mountains

Vila Marta is a guesthouse located in Horný Smokovec Smokovec, Vysoké Tatry. It is located close to the train station Pekná Vyhliadka. A simple two-story guesthouse, with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchenette upstairs; and a large kitchen, living room and bedroom downstairs. The guesthouse also offers access to a garden/terrace, with a fireplace and benches during the summer. Ideal for larger groups of friends, or families travelling together. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. There is also a couch in the living room, and a possibility of adding up to two floor mattresses. The downstairs kitchen is spacious, can host around 10 people at the dining table, and has a large gas stove with an electric oven. The upstairs bedroom comprise of a 4 bed-bedroom with its own shower and toilet, a two-bedroom, 8 bed apartment with its own shower and toilet, and an extra two-bed room. There is also a common kitchenette with a small electric stove and a common space. Both the upstairs and downstairs kitchens are fully equipped. The guesthouse also offers access to a garden/terrace, with a fireplace and benches during the summer. Since I do not currently live in the Tatras, i can´t promise I will be there to show you around, but I am always available online should there be any questions or problems. We also have a caretaker who lives nearby and can assist with anything if needed. Vila Marta is located in a small friendly neighborhood in Horný Smokovec, consisting mostly of other guesthouses. Right next door is a newly decorated local pub "Poľská Krčma", which also offers some food. A restaurant called "Santal" is located just 5 minutes walking distances, with more restaurants available in the city of Starý Smokovec (15 minutes walking distance). A nearby hotel Grandhotel Bellevue also offers a spa-package for a reasonable price. The nearest supermarket is also about 10 minutes walking distance in Starý Smokovec. The guesthouse has an ideal location for both hiking and skiing. The lift to Hrebienok, a place where many popular hiking routes in the Tatras start is located in Starý Smokovec, 15 minutes walking distance. The Skibus to Tatranská Lomnica ski centre has stop very close to the guesthouse. A tourist map is available for guests, and I can gladly provide more info and tips on hiking and skiing possibilities in the Tatras. The guesthouse is located in Horný Smokovec, at the train station Pekná Vyhliadka. The train station is about a 100 meters from the guesthouse. Train connections from Poprad-Tatry (airport, international trains, buses) to Pekná Vyhliadka leave every hour, with a change in Starý Smokovec. The guesthouse is also available by car, with a parking place able to hold three cars in front of the guesthouse, and a larger free public parking place in short walking distance. Ski buses and regional buses also leave from a bus station in front of the Intersport store, about 100 meters distance. A local accommodation tax of 1,5 Euro/Person/Night is to be paid upon arrival. We strongly recommend bringing your own slippers for indoors, and not wearing outdoor shoes im the carpeted rooms. We offer clean bed sheets and a hand-towel per room, however, you have to bring your own toiletries and shower towels. There is a fireplace in the downstairs living room but we do not officialy provide firewood. Firewood can be bought at a nearby gas station, or arranged by us upon request, depending on availability. Smoking is not allowed inside the property, but is allowed in front of the house or on the garden/terrasse. Pets are usually allowed upon request, but please inform us if you are planning to bring some.
