Independent apt., 2 rooms with 1 double bed + 1 sofa bed, ground floor, in the center, overlooking the Langhe hills and castles. Kitchen, refrigerator, washing machine, Wifi. Quiet town but with all services, panoramic view, near Alba, Barolo etc. but better micro-climate. We won't ask any "pass", never. Independent apartment with two rooms with one double bed (and one sofa bed), ground floor, in the center of Carrù, overlooking the Langhe hills. The apartment has a large living room/kitchen with gas-rings (gas included), hotplates, electric oven, microwave, a refrigerator with freezer, a sofa bed and a large wardrobe; a bathroom with WC, bidet, shower and washing machine; a bedroom with double bed and wardrobe. There is a small courtyard on the back. There is free parking. WiFi Internet connection all over. The apartment is heated in winter by means of radiators and its location and insulation ensures bearable temperatures in the summer without the need of air conditioning. The location is very favorable because it is 100 meters from the center (bars, restaurants, shops, post office, banks, atm / cash machine, churches, library), but at the same time it is on the edge of the hill so you have a panoramic view of the Langhe and you are close to trails where you can spend time in beautiful walks. The climate is better than Alba and Fossano (more cool in the summer and more warm in the winter). As for Carrù, the central location of Carrù, halfway between Cuneo and Alba allows excursions in the most interesting locations of the Langhe with their hills, their castles and their vineyards unique in the world, and both toward Cuneo, Fossano, Mondovì in areas rich in history and full of remarkable religious and civil architecture. Its size halfway between the city and the village allows you to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay with no chaos and noise, but without giving up the comforts of modern life. The apartment is independent and you will have the keys; no stairs, ground floor. You can always park almost immediately outside (free). Owners live next door and they are available on the day should you need something. The apartment is in the center of Carrù, a town that is livable: not so big to be stressful and noisy, but also not too much small, so you don't have to give up the conveniences of modern life. The location of the property is very favorable because it is in the best part of Carrù: there are bars, restaurants, shops, post office, bank, atm / cash machine, churches, and the public library within 100-200 meters; but at the same time it is on the edge of the hill in a quiet area with moderate or no traffic. The apartment is located in the center of Carrù, a town with an ancient history (it existed before year 900), which features an imposing castle (the first document appointing it is dated 1041, it has undergone many renovations), three churches richly decorated dating back from 1700 (at walking distance, like the castle) and other churches in the villages St. Anne and St. Rocco (1-2km). Then there are the frescoes in the chapel of the cemetery; many historical buildings and other minor works (not all of these buildings are permanently accessible inside). At the end of September there is the Grape Festival and in December the centennial Fiera del Bue Grasso (fair of the fat ox), both festive occasions and abundant libations opportunities: in the many restaurants and in the tents set up for these purposes. In June, there are the cultural events of June Carrucese. In May "Pleasure Carrù". In March, the spring fair of the Beef and Fat Cattle. In Carrù the Langhe hills do begin, with the characteristic vineyards and castles perched and proud at the top of the hills: precious and unique landscapes for which the area has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. At 15 Km, from the year 1198 there is Mondovì, in the sixteenth century the most populous city of Piedmont and for centuries second only to Turin, rich in history and culture. At 18 Km there is Vicoforte with its sanctuary, the church with the largest elliptical dome in the world; Alba is at 34 Km with its towers, its churches and its truffles. At 22 Km there is Barolo with its wines and its castle; then Monforte, Serralunga and many other villages. Even more near you find Benevagienna with the ruins of the ancient Roman town (Augusta Bagiennorum, 100 B.C.); and Dogliani with its churches and its wines. A couple of Km and there is Piozzo with the Baladin beer, Clavesana with its vineyards of Dolcetto and its Winery, and the nearby village of Belvedere with its panoramic views of the Alps ... This does not include the provincial capital, Cuneo, 32 km, Saluzzo, and the surroundings. And we could go on for pages and pages because, here, every little village of just 300 inhabitants preserves scenic wonders, art and unique architectures. Carrù is accessible via the Autostrada Torino-Savona (tollbooth Carrù or Mondovì), or by train via the railway stations of Mondovì or Fossano. From and to Mondovì there is a bus service. For going around it is advisable to come by car / rent it. In addition to those already mentioned, within walking distance there is a public library, areas for children, several scenic trails for walking (you will need sport shoes for some - you'll find nature and tranquillity), the center with its shops, bars and very good restaurants; Then, despite the relatively small size Carrù boasts two large supermarkets, and is 12 km from the outlet/shopping center Mondovicino. The climate in Carrù is cold in winter (it often goes below freezing in January and February) and reasonable in the summer (it is very rarely muggy, so that it has been a traditionally summer holiday destination for residents of Liguria and France). In Italy electricity is limited to 3KW per apartment: please use gas to cook instead of electric, when possible. If you turn on too much electric utilities the electric limiter may cut off the energy (in case just ask us - we live next door). Internet may go off (rarely) when big thunderstorms: in case we don't notice, just ask us to restart the Internet modem-router.
