Rogie Falls is within walking distance as are the cafes of the neighbouring Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer. There is a fine dining restaurant a short walk away. Ideally located only 18 miles from Inverness and on the North Coast 500 route it is the perfect base from which to explore the Highlands. From here in one direction is the spectacular west coast route with its dramatic mountains, lochs and unspoilt beaches and less than 30 minutes east are the beaches of the beautiful Black Isle in Fortrose and Rosemarkie. Also here is the historic and quaint village of Cromarty where dolphin spotting boat trips leave. Inverness has a great selection of restaurants for all tastes, cinemas and a theatre as well as lovely walks along the River Ness. Nearby historic sites such as Culloden Battlefield and Urquhart Castle at the head of Loch Ness where leisurely cruises can be enjoyed. Travelling south takes in the Cairngorm National Park and lots of opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities in Aviemore. Locally as well as walking and cycling (bicycles can be rented ) there is a swimming pool in Dingwall, 6 miles away as well as opportunities for wild swimming! There are plenty of local golf courses to choose from, the nearest at Strathpeffer 2 miles away. There are also three championship courses within an hour's drive at Nairn, Castle Stuart and Royal Dornoch.
