Nusa Ceningan Island is the smallest among Bali’s three Nusa Islands. It is conveniently connected to Nusa Lembongan by an iconic yellow suspension bridge that’s accessible by foot, bicycle or scooter. Both islands offer similar natural and cultural features like coastal fishing villages and a few seaweed farms. From this bridge, the views of the very narrow strait that runs between these two islands is spectacular. Nusa Ceningan might not as popular as it's sibling, but that's part of its charm. On this lesser-visited island, you can enjoy a good stroll to see local life from up close. Around the coasts, you’ll enjoy sweeping seascapes dotted with traditional fishing boats and patches of green seaweed. Among the popular coastal spots are the Blue Lagoon, which provides a cliff-top vantage point; and Secret Beach on Ceningan’s southwest. In less than 5 min ride from the villa, you'll reach Nusa Lembongan where you can visit: - Dream Beach - Mushroom Bay - Sandy Bay - Panorama Point - Jungutbatu Beach - Mangrove The villa is within walking distance to some bars, restaurants, spas and 5 min ride from a dive centre and yoga shack. We will be happy to help you organize your boat transfer to the island (please check the "check-in instructions" section with the detailed timetable and prices). We don't have our own shuttle service to come to pick you up at the beach on arrival but our partners include the drop off at the yellow bridge in the boat ticket price. The villa is less than 10 min walk from the bridge. We recommend to rent a scooter. Many restaurants in Lembongan also offer free pick-up and drop-off at the yellow bridge if you book a table with them. There is no taxi service (nor gojek) on the island, transfers need to be organised beforehand with a private driver. It's ultimately the quietest day of the year, when all of the island's inhabitants abide by a set of local rules. These bring all routine activities to a complete halt. Roads all over Bali and Nusa Lembongan are void of any traffic and nobody steps outside of their home premises. Nyepi is worth experiencing at least once in a lifetime. Especially, since the preceding and following days offer rare highlights to behold! The Balinese Hindus follow a ritual called the Catur Brata Penyepian, roughly the ‘Four Nyepi Prohibitions’. These include amati geni or ‘no fire’, amati lelungan or ‘no travel’, amati karya ‘no activity’, and amati lelanguan ‘no entertainment’. Some consider it a time for total relaxation and contemplation, for others, a chance for Mother Nature to ‘reboot’ herself after 364 days of human pestering. No lights are turned on at night – total darkness and seclusion goes along with this new moon island-wide, from 06:00 to 06:00. In Nusa Lembongan, the power is actually completely cut off for 24 hours. No motor vehicles whatsoever are allowed on the streets, except ambulances and police patrols and emergencies. Nomad Holiday Rentals cares as much about your safety as about your comfort. All our rooms and villas surfaces are thoroughly disinfected between guests. We follow the new post-covid standards of the hospitality industry.
