The Old Manor dates back to around 1460 and was originally built for Hugh Sugar, the treasurer of Wells Cathedral. This exceptional house is of significant historical interest and features a broad array of Tudor architectural structures that include ecclesiastical motifs, multi-paned windows, stone hearth surrounds, and soaring fireplaces. Situated in Croscombe, just a stone’s throw away from the ancient city of Wells and 20 mins away from Frome, Bruton and Glastonbury in addition to the living space we have a games room with pool / table tennis / air hockey and darts . Will be available via phone/text/email wells is a short drive away with its magnificent cathedral and independent shops and Saturday market. Frome voted best place to live my the Sunday times 2021 is 20 mins drive and is fabulous for cafes/ bars and lots of interesting maker shops and delis Car dependent This is a 600 year house so please don’t expect everything to be modern. The house is grade one listed so we are limited to how many changes can be made to the fabric of the house . We don’t list the crypt at the far end of the house as a living space as it is difficult to use but fabulous to have as part of this very special house.
